How are you guys making money on TWITTER

Hi everyone,

I have been experimenting with Twitter. So far I haven't had much success. I have good software to help me market products. I am just wondering what you guys are doing to see success on twitter.

1) What products are you seeing success with?

2) What systems are you using to see a profit?

How are you marketing I am using tweetadder too and it does work. I have 5 profiles with over 20000 followers not bad considering I went from 1 profile with about 1200 as I never really tried to market with twitter.

Now that I have a good base I want to really get into the nuts and bolts of what works. I will gladly take suggestions.

I understand that you have a lot of followers. How are you monetizing those followers?

Personally I'm avoiding using it to make money, when someone sends me a link it just comes across much the same as a spam email, accordingly that may account for people not getting good conversions.

The best way is to find people with specific needs and put a solution (your solution) in front of them, rather than just blasting out links.

If you know how, you can do this without having a single follower.

      What are you marketing though?

I use tweet adder as well. But I need a formula to follow to make money with it. I did try that blasting out like thing and that hasn't worked. I got lots of traffic but LITTLE CONVERSIONS! I am kind of stuck...

I don't want to say where you will find my answer as it may be against the posting rules.

Market anything as long as people are looking for it.

Hehe yes, you can always market to people even if you have 0 followers A lot easier to do than building followers first.

I guess I understand what Paleochora is talking about. Perhaps this is an effective way to make money on Twitter but it does take a lot of time.

I stopped caring about Twitter after seeing that most of my followers were not really following me; they simply wanted to be followed. I don’t know if I should trust any software because if you have a problem with Twitter, nobody helps you solve it. The support simply doesn’t work.

I had many problems, like: losing followers instead of getting new ones, or seeing that more people were following me but the number of followers in my profile didn’t change. Only the number of the people I was following would change when I would decide to follow someone back, while my followers’ number remained the same. I tried to send a message to their support but it was impossible to find a solution. So, I simply gave up caring about Twitter. I post there my articles only because a few people click on my links once in a while.

There definitely are 2 camps for the value of using Twitter. I've followed the blueprint of someone who is very successful using Twitter and it didn't work so well in my niche. I think that people who do well on Twitter already have a following from other places and then they follow them to Twitter. There definitely are exceptions, but I'm not one of them.

I still use Twitter to announce article submissions and blog posts but I don't count on getting good traffic from those. I'm open to ideas on more ways to use Twitter, but so far it's not been a good use of time for me.

I think Twitter has a great potential for earning income. It is a great tool for marketing or getting the message out. I just haven't developed a good system yet..... Anyone else have anything to say on this matter.. Any advice or input would be great.

Hype aside, Twitter still isn't mainstream

This might make you think twice before you buy into Twitter Marketing Applications? I can't count the discussions in forums where people post they have thousands of followers, but never make any money.

Hype aside, Twitter still isn't mainstream

Twitter is a neat product that's very popular with influential tech and media types, and the company has a lot of potential. But its new goal -- becoming one of the world's biggest media companies -- is going to be challenging. Because most people simply don't use Twitter.

A recent Pew study about Twitter reveals that only 8% of American adults who use the internet use Twitter -- only 2% on a typical day. And of Twitter users, almost half of them rarely or never use it to read a word of what anyone else says.

Twitter's U.S. traffic growth has stalled, and it's smaller than the Huffington Post. And when it comes to sending readers to the Gawker Media empire, Twitter has grown far slower than Facebook and even StumbleUpon.

That isn't to say Twitter can't become mainstream. But it isn't now.

I find twitter good for letting people know about articles and blog posts.
There is a lot of gold in this statement if you can see the implications of it.

As mentioned earlier, one way of using Twitter is build an email list.

However, it is also possible to make sales by following the principles of a pre-sell page. In other worlds, instead of adding links to a sales page in your tweets, think of providing interesting material that will take them to a web page that they are happy to read or view and which contains a graphic that leads to the sales page. That way they are not feeling pressured, are happy to see the material you've offered, and you can still pique their curiosity (as with a well-structured article) to build a good CTR to the sales page.

Then, when they have chosen to go to the sales page, they are already primed for the promotion. The extra step means the relationship has been maintained and they don't feel shanghaied.

In my opinion Twitter is no longer a viable place to make money. When it first started it was a great place to make money. But, as more and more people came and more more spammers came in it became less effective.

Now, the space is mostly ran by a bunch of automated bots that do most of the posting. Your message really is never heard. That is, unless you are a major celebrity. Then, your tweets and probably read and it can be a great way to market.

But, if you're just the average Joe on the street I would not put too much weight into Twitter marketing.

However, I would not discount it altogether either. If you build a loyal fan base they can become a good avenue for you. But, doing that is much harder than it ever was before.

Usually, making money manually on twitter requires TOO MUCH work.

I used to use a service that automated everything, but I stopped after EVERY single account of mine got banned LOL.

Banned? Then you were doing it wrong. I have automated Twitter accounts and there making about as much as I would working at a fast-food joint on a weekly basis.

Yes, if you're interested in Twitter marketing it does take some work to get an automated system setup. And some money too, because, you have to go with the paid services if you want to take it serious.

I have found that Twitter is most successful with high quality personable tweets - people don't give 2 hoots about receiving tweets pushing a product.

I use twitter to interact with people. I try not to put link in my tweets and just try to engage with people. That way people know that you are there to really interact instead of just fill their feed full of advertising tweet to a link.

I follow how Gary Vaynerchuk uses his twitter.

Twitter is dead for those who just add people and spam them with links. Not what twitter was intended for.

No one will follow you on facebook if you keep posting affiliate link status updates. Twitter is a social media site and if your not socializing with your prospects then its pretty useless in my opinion.

I find twitter good for letting people know about articles and blog posts. The trick for me is to make the tweet emotive and informative. It does get traffic to my niche.

I have not found it any good for actually trying to sell or promote a product yet, although have had a few hits occasionally. Just a matter of working out the language.

I do spend some time trying to make conversation with tweeters and create a bit of a profile. Only a small percentage of my tweets will actually contain links. I think most posts with links get ignored unless you now the twitterer and have some confidence in them. Only way to do this is to talk to them.

I started utilizing twitter recently after reading a WSO by Raja Kamil (maybe a mispell). He outlines a very easy way to start making money on twitter by harnessing the viral nature of twitter. I have already made two sales and have about 500 followers. One sale was for the product I am promoting and one was for my WSO after making a tweet.

Good Luck Check out RK's WSO
