Can Someone Help Me Get Back Into My Site?

Hey Warriors!

UPDATE: Got it - thanks! Figured it out. Whew!

I had a small disaster New Years Eve - I deleted Firefox and with it, the folders and bookmarks (I had imported them on Chrome, so I assumed if I uninstalled FF and chose the option to also delete the files, I'd have them on Chrome still - but no).

In them was the Joomla login bookmark to my PLR site.

Now I can't get back in. With all my wordpress sites, it was easy - just domain.com/wp-admin. But no clue what my Joomla login address is.

Ugh. I hate it when I make a stupid mistake like this.

You cant look at the file directory and figure it out?

Never used joomla so wouldn't know for sure. But I would think by looking at the files you can find the login address.

Can I recommend something? Password managers in Firefox are extremely weak. They're unsafe to save your passwords in. Check out LastPass firefox add-on. This will encrypt your passwords, I use it myself, Got to many passwords to remember.

    Hey Tiff,

In case this happens again in the future here's a "secret" way of getting yourself sorted again. I've used this to help clients in the past so I know it's a life-saver when you need it.

1 - go to phpmyadmin or whatever your joomla install used to store its data.
2 - create a new user with a password you know
3 - in the database copy your new password into the admin users password field (these are encrypted but you already know what it should be when you log in since you just created it so the encryption is irrelavant - just copy the new encrypted password from the new user in the database)
4 - login as admin using your new password

    Regards,

    Andy
