Same here. I did a crazy amount of work in the PE niche, got a lot of traffic using EZA + web 2.0 freebie sites (Hubpages and Squidoo -- can't use them for that niche now) and made my 1st $1,600 + online. If I were to get back into that niche today, I would go about it a lot differently ...

I create quality online content at Squidoo, and Yahoo! Contributor Network to inform, to have fun and make some money at it along the way :)

What caused you to leave the niche?

That is an obscure niche. Based on your observations it is probably better suited as an entry into something else dog related.

        Happy New Year Tim,
I have wrestled with this one for months on end.
My ezinearticle averages over 580 views a month but only 2%ctr (#3 google for dog nose bleed)

My webpage gets 400 visits a month (#8 on google)

I have tried every which way to monetise but come up blank.

Give me an idea and you have a 50/50 on your hands.
(maybe get rid of bed bugs from the dogs bed??? )

Let me think on it a bit. I just did some quick research and think there are some products that can recommended.

With that said, first priority would be to change the resource box of your article in order to push the CTR from 2% to 15% that will provide more traffic which could then be presented various offers.

          Respectfully,

Internet marketing... full of crazy people.

Other than that: specialized parts for custom-built, liquid-cooled computers. Including specialized parts for cooling computer components to sub-zero temperatures and even stuff for crazy people who submerge their entire computers in oil, for cooling (well, for sport, primarily and for cooling secondarily).

Last month on amazon I did get an order for some Propylene Glycol. It is used to treat ketosis in dairy cattle.

Not really promoting it though, as it was just a random sale.

Not for money, though - and that's good because there's none in it.

More of an existentialist than an objectivist, I gather?

(And yes, I did just call objectivism a philosophy to a confessed philosopher...but really, only to get a reaction. )

Oh, very much so, yes. I'm going to get in trouble for it, I think, but Ayn Rand is definitely not a popular person in my circles. I see all sorts of "Atlas Shrugged" references around here, though. I cringe, but keep my mouth shut. Something tells me Rand-criticism on Warrior Forum would go over about as well as moldy cheesecake.

As for existentialism, I'm much more open to it, although I'm not exactly an existentialist, either. My own personal philosophy is rather Eastern in flavor and has elements most consistent with Buddhism.

I don't mind that. I agree that it is one - just not one I happen to like.

Now, please don't encourage me any more! I will get myself completely blackballed around here over philosophy if people egg me on.

I dig. I only ever philosophically call out those I sniff a familiar wavelength on.

    Wow
This has opened my eyes to a whole load of things that are possible in soooooo many niches.

I have tried video marketing for many Amazon products including runners watches and even home gym systems.....but never thought of some of the above.

    Amazing.....interesting thread!

I've ghostwritten on a whole crap load of strange niches. Or at least niches I never thought I would write in. I've written on resort towns of the US, I've written all sorts of sexual related niches, from positions to more "technical" topics LOL. I've written across the board on all forms and types of parenting. I've written on all sorts of IM related topics. Dog care articles. Eyeball tattoos, tongue tattoos and more. Just my main EZA name I've written in over 26 niches. And some of them are just downright strange LOL.

    Best wishes,
    Sylvia

I know. It's downright gross. And the fact that it isn't overly tested is even worse. I was reading one thing on it about the fact they have to "guess" on how deep to inject the ink, with going too deep causing poisoning within the eye itself, and going to shallow ending up with ink leaking outside of the injection point. Was just not right. I mean I have tattoos and piercings myself, but that just seems to be a step too far. Goes along with tongue tattoos for me. Yuck.

            Best wishes,

It probably doesn't seem crazy here, but the IM guru is not really something people "get" outside of this industry. I have a hard time explaining to people what it is I do without needing to work in underwater basketweaving and whatnot.
