What if you had an idea so big...

That it would possibly help every human being in the world? It's applicable to every niche, should be relatively easy to create, if done right will have tons of users, etc.

How would you monetize such an idea. The twitter thread from earlier triggered my question. I don't have such an idea, but if you did, what would you do.

Give the product away free and monetize thru advertising?
Charge monthly fee for product?
Charge one time fee?
Some other way?

How would you decide where to begin? If the whole internet is your market, what you do?

    i have just such an idea but i look at it this way:

    anything that powerful should be kept in a cage, at least until i forget what it was.

    An idea that big will not be easy to create 8) i think it will take time and patience and be able to break it down into building blocks to be able to grasp it all.

    Wether to give it away free or paid all depends on what the product actually is...

    Facebook is a great example of a HUGE free idea that makes billions!!!!

    I don't think the whole Internet could ever be everyone's marketplace.

    My wife will never buy the kinds of things I buy online, and vice versa.

    If someone told me that they had such an idea, I would assume they did not have their head screwed on straight, and I would steer wide.

      If I have an idea so big I didn't know what to do with it or how to make it happen - I'd label it a dream.

      Ideas are funny things. If we think about a new idea long enough it gains importance - before long we've convinced ourselves it will change the world, make us billions and win a Nobel prize.

      We rapidly reach a plane where we are convinced our idea cannot fail.

    Ideas are like thoughts, until you sit down with them you never really realise how empty they are or how few of them you actually have :p ~ Sparhawke 2011.

    There are some great ideas out there, it just depends how practical they are, and at least Facebook had an obsessive genius building it in the first days and some capital for hosting.

    How long have you had your idea for? Give it 2-3 months. Think about it. Take notes. Do some research.

    If you're still excited by it and still see an opportunity, plan small steps to start building momentum to making it happen. Even if it's just coming up with a name, buying a domain name, creating a logo etc.
