Keyword has 22K exact searches per month in Google.
my site is in position 8 or 9.
I would assume most of the clicks go to the first 3 results.
but how much traffic it is reasonable to expect?
#expect #reasonable #traffic

I don't understand why you are asking this question. If you like the amount of traffic you have, that's good. If you don't like the amount, then maybe some more promotion could help you get higher rankings and more traffic.

The hard part is, about this question is that it is always a guess on anyone's part and the only number that makes a difference is what you are actually getting as far as traffic.

Not trying to be rude, just saying that anything other than what you are getting is a guess on somebody's part.

I did not start my SEO campaign yet, but assume that I can realistically achieve position 8 or 9 based on the competition.I am looking for an industry standard and I understand that actual results can deviate.I would not want to spend $$ and energy just to see how much traffic will I get.I always try to plan ahead to the best of my ability

There is no industry standard. The page that was just cited, is a report about an abstract about a study whose entire unverse, statisically speaking, was 26 people.

So in the beginning post, when you said your site was in position 8 or 9, you are saying that it is not?

If that is the case, why would you assume that you can only get postion 8 or 9 instead of position 1 or 2?

How much work are you will to put in? What means are you going to use to get traffic? Do you plan to spend any money? etc.

Just saying a general question usually needs A LOT more information before any can begin to give you an estimate of how much traffic you'll get.

There were 26 participants in the referenced study (not statistically relevant in my eyes) and the search results were predetermined by the study, not the people. I wouldn't rely heavily on the data in the aformentioned Cornell study. Just my two pennies.

If there is no industry standard, what traffic can I expect from your experience?
Looking at the report, getting %3 of traffic if you rank at the end of the first page seems pretty realistic.

      Thanks,

Your traffic in those positions depends on your market and your content, I suppose. wish I had a better answer for you.

It's hard to say how much traffic you will get, but if you're in 8th spot or so then you're alright, then just keep building links, keep advertising your site and you'll move up and get more traffic
