Publishing Using Createspace(Amazon)

Has anyone done this successfully ?

I wrote a book and receive numerous errors when I upload it to publish.

Errors Below

The interior file does not have sufficient margins for printing. Text on PDF page 1 will be cut. The file should have at least .375" for the gutter (inside margin) and at least .25" for the outside, top and bottom margins.

It appears that images in the interior file should be full-bleed (take up the whole page). Full bleed images should extend at least .125" beyond the book's trim size from the top, bottom and outer edges with all live elements at least .25" away from the final book's trim lines. The interior PDF file should be .25" higher and .125" wider than the book's trim size to accommodate the full bleed area. For example, the interior PDF file for a 5.5x8.5 book should be 5.63x8.75

Additionally, we have noted the concerns listed below. You may choose to move forward with the below issues as-is; however, we wanted to bring them to your attention.

The interior file contains images that range from 114 to 199 DPI, which may appear blurry and pixelated in print. For optimal printing, we recommend all images be at least 300 DPI. Examples of Pages with low-resolution images include but are not limited to: PDF page 5,14

The interior type selected for your book is Full Color but the interior file contains bleed. Therefore, we have updated the interior type for your book Full Color with Bleed.

Publishing a print book requires special formatting, layout and file design that's too complicated to cover in a forum post. You should be able to learn the basics and fix the errors by reading through the create space formatting guide though. Sorry I couldn't help more but good luck with your project.

At Createspace, scroll to the bottom on the FAQ tab at this URL:

      https://www.createspace.com/Products/Book/

Click on the "Frequently Asked Questions" link there (I know, WTF? Seems like FAQ should have already been that).

Spend some time going through those. You need to set margins, create all images at 300dpi (even set your screenshot software to capture at 300dpi), and a number of other important requirements.

Thanks to all, I had read all the formatting guidelines and resubmitted a few times after going back and forth with my graphic designer.

I have now created a template that Createspace provided tools for (which I had overlooked).

    Thanks

Createspace has their own forums where you'll stand a much better chance of getting specific help than here.
