Help with ideas to monetize my site

Hi and Happy New Year to all,

I've got a site that I created a while ago, maybe in 1998 or something. I created it when I started helping with my family business wholesaling furniture.

Over the years, it had changed to a retail site and I used to get up to 150-200 visitors daily.

I closed the business a few years ago and kept the site. I took down my paypal buttons and just took in adsense revenue.

I'm now down to 60-80 visitors a day. I know the site has got potential, it's an aged domain name, it's ranked on the first page for Google ("antique reproduction furniture"). It used to be #1, but, has since dropped to somewhere on the first page. Luckily, it's still on the first page. It's also ranked #2 for some other keywords related to furniture.

I only make around $20/month off this site with adsense now. Can anyone give me some ideas to generate more income?

A directory listing? Amazon store? I know I've got to be making more than $20/month with this kind of ranking and visitors, especially if I can get it back to the 150-200 / day.

Thanks.

    Amazon store with furniture.

Not sure if you will top $20/month with that traffic but if I had to guess... you will.

Sounds like you really need to do a lot more promotion to this site to build up your traffic numbers. Traffic = money online.

If you've just been letting it sit there, then that's why the numbers are dropping, because your competition is out promoting you. Add more content to the site and publish some articles. Give people a reason to want to recommend your site to others.

I strongly agreed on this one! If you want more visitors do some good content on your site. Also, if you really want your site to be on rank 1 again- you can do social bookmarking, directory submission, and all types of SEO strategies that can pull up traffic to your site!

Since your website revolves around furniture, you could turn it into an e-store selling furniture (highly targeted traffic). Amazon would work, but you could also try looking for manufacturers that are willing to do the drop shipping part for you, so your site becomes like a "middle man" between the manufacturer and buyers.
