Is Karma working for you?

OK, I know its a little weird but the question says it all.

I have completely changed my life by thinking what i can do for others and in doing so have 100x my income and excitement for life.

I was really doubting the fact that karma is a universal law and then a few months ago, bam! I decided to just help people only.

What is weird is each action I do for someone that REALLY needs it, results in 10 times back at me. And as a result I take that 10x and invest it in more good karma and 100x the original. Its so weird but for the first time in my life I feel like giving is worth waaaaaay more than getting.

Anyone else notice this?

This has worked for me too. When I started in this business the main goal was to make money.

When I stopped thinking of the money and started thinking of my readers first funnily enough the money started to flow.

  • John and Paula, I agree totally.

When I am in need, I give, and everything seems to take care of itself.

I believe in karma, only I tend to call it cause and effect. It makes me sound more smarterer.

Everyone, my favorite book in the world is Nevil Shute's "Trust from the Toolroom". It is about a little old man that has spent his whole life helping people he didnt even know he was helping. When he really needed help himself, he was surprised to find out just how many peoples lives he had touched.

Didnt really understand till recently why i was so drawn to this book.

The author himself had a brother that was apparently a very famous writer and he himself didn't understand why he made so much money and had his books turned into movies, etc.

It was his last book he wrote. You have probably read his stories and seen his movies but have not realized who it was. Great man.

I do understand his lesson now. I am glad others are this year also.

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.

It is so much easier to live thinking this way than the rat race kind of thing many of us grew up being a part of.

And so much easier to be proactive. Kind of like it being OK to pay it forward. And even though I am definitely not a Vedant, I still like My Name Is Earl.

Thanks for the recommendation, John. I'll check it out.

@ Michael Mayo - Nice story. It reflects well on your character. Whether you call it karma, cause and effect, reaping what you sow ... those of us who incorporate it into our lifestyles know the power of it.

    Dennis, Youz one smart cookie!

    What comes around goes around.

I'm a believer in karma or as Dennis put it cause and effect. When I do something
good I tend to see more good things happen.

Another thing you should remember is the fact that no matter how bad something is
there is always something good that will come from it. We may not see it or even
know that it is happening but when it happens we see the result sooner or later.

Example: Hurricane Ike, I helped a few families that needed electricity for medical
equipment when the power went out by purchasing generators for them. I used every
cent I had then realized that I had no money left to help my family and my self during
    the time.

    ~Long story short~

Before the day was over I had recouped the money I had spent. Not from
the victims but from a business that needed help clearing trees from
multiple stores lots. you can read about it Here.

Here is the part many wouldn't see even knowing the story as many Warriors do
because I posted it as it was happening. The people that I helped still have the
generators and are ready if the power ever goes out again and I know that
my family and I are welcome in each and every one of their homes.
(This story still brings tears to my eyes)

Had I stopped and thought that what I was doing would have put my family in a
situation would I have still helped the other familys? You can bet your A$$ I would have.
They are elderly and required the medical equipment to sustain life.

Reap what you sow and if you receive nothing in return then continue to sow regardless,
It's the right thing to do.

If you always go right you will never go wrong.

    Have a Great Day!
    Michael

Yes, karma is working! Proven and tested, people who are fund of playing people will recieve karma with 200% of what you've done. Dont hesitate to do the right thing, dont clever other people, because, time will come, god will punish you

Karma does exist, what you put out is what you get back.

My motto is be nice to everyone because you don't know who they are- the six degrees of separation works in mysterious ways. The person who you give an attitude to could be a friend of a friend who remembers the way you treated them.

Or it might even be a future client who recognizes you during a face to face meeting and doesn't want to do business with you because of the way you treat people.

It's also wise to do business ethically. You never know.

I value karma a lot too. I mean I cannot do an unethical thing because in the back of my mind there is always this nagging feeling... you do this and it'll get back to you. I can't vouch for any physical rewards for good karma. but knowing that I've not done anything morally wrong, does help me sleep better at night.

Is a great concept, this Karma is.

For me, there is no such thing as Karma as long as you trust yourself and God will bless you.

    Hi,
I dont under stand what is this From your saying i can understand it is some thing good so can you please explain it to me

This goes hand in hand with the concept of giving first, without explicitly expecting anything in return.

It may sound nonsensical to many, but try it before you automatically assume this is just some crackpot theory out of a book.

I know that things changed dramatically for me when I started asking what I could do for people, instead of the opposite. The payoff may not be immediate or even very recognizable at first, but if you keep giving consistently you'll see many good things start appearing in your life.

Here's another twist on this karma thang...

Be grateful for all that you have - and miraculously, you'll find
    you have/get MORE.

Agree with being grateful each day. Even what seems to be 'bad' is
      usually/often something good.

I've seen karma at work in my life so much I would never doubt it.

I gave 10 euro which is aprox. $15 to a homeless dude begging yesterday. I came back and saw my earnings from this particular day! Usually I make about $100 on average but yesterday I earned $250. So yes Karma does work for me.
