I'm fairly decent at graphic design but what I'm wondering is:

Is there a template or something for all of the eBook product pictures that people use?

And if so, where do I get one?

And if not, how do I make one?

Thanks in advance,

~S

There is some desktop software that will help you, as well as online software. There are Photoshop action scripts that will help you too. Or, you could make them from scratch like I do. it's not that hard, you just have to learn to use a few tools in a graphics program.

Yes you have to get Photoshop action scripts which you can later edit in Photoshop. Here is the most famous one:
Cover Action Pro® - eBook Cover Software (not an affiliate link)

Not sure about others. I usually just outsource them. You will find a lot of designers on WF that do it for about $17 I think.

    Hope this helps.

Rather then duplicate the post, here I list some of the paid but also free ecover makers:
      Best Ecover Creator Software!

      Hope it helps.

I personally recommend you pay an experienced ebook designer because it will help a lot with converting your traffic into buyers.

I know it sounds trivial, but it really does make a big difference in conversion if your product image looks slick, interesting, or nice.

One guy I like to use is coverscorp.com. He's cheap and does excellent work.

BTW Marian, that free ecover maker isn't free anymore, it's $4. Thanks for the link to the list though.

You can outsource this type of work for very little money, and the results are unbelievable, If I can find you the guy who worked on my Ebook designs I will give you his name.

I've used most of the cover generators and actionscripts but I still usually get Karl Warren (forum member) to do them for me because he's quick and good.

AWESOME. This helped a LOT. I use Fireworks, so there was about an hour of pulling my hair out with the learning curve for Photoshop. But either way, my covers are done. Have a look-see at this compilation:

Took longer than I wanted but I'm done.

What do you guys think of the branding?

I HIGHLY recommend Karl Warren (from here). He did a great job with mine, IMHO.
