Facebook Advertising Question

How do you get access to a client's advertising account (on Facebook)
if you want to manage his advertising campaigns for him?

Does Facebook have a similar facility like adwords where clients can add their consultant's email address and then access their account?
If yes, where can I get exact step by step information regarding this (to provide to the client)?

If no, does it mean, the client has to provide his Facebook login credentials to the consultant? (wouldn't that be against Facebook TOS?)

    Hi AnneRose88,

I believe it would be best for you to get in touch with the Facebook Ads Team as they would be in the best position to address your concern.

What if the client already HAS a Facebook account? (which is almost always the case)
I keep hearing that Facebook doesn't allow creating more than one account.
So, if you create a second account for the client, you'd be violating Facebook's TOS and risking both accounts being shut down.

How do you get around that?
Is there a way to manage Facebook ad campaigns for a client without violating Facebook's TOS??

      Their TOS say:
      1) User may not share his login credentials with anyone
      2) User may not create more than one account

And if anyone gets caught violating the above 2 points they threaten to shut down all accounts.

Your client can set up the ad basics. Then under the settings tab there is a space for adding "permissions"

this is where your colleague can add you so you can manage the campaign.

    Hope this helps

Are there fool-proof step by step instructions for this? i.e. something that I could send to the client.

In the first instance is there any reason why your client can’t give you access to their account?

Secondly you don’t actually need their account to advertise for them.

You could set your own up – to the end user e.g. the person clicking on the ad, they won’t have a clue if its your clients account or your own

You need to get the login info from your client. Anyone can set up an ad account at FB. You just need to input your own credit card data. If it is client specific, you'll need the credit card information for each client, and permission to use it.

I think as long as you know your client’s login info or an account that you share, you may be able to access this dashboard and manage your client’s accounts.
