Why You Must Use Aweber's HTML Code (And How To Still Get The Stats!)

Hey peeps!

With the launch of my first squeeze page, I've been seeking some help on the forum.

Some of you have been really helpful. Thank you!

One thing though, which some of Warriors don't realise is this:

If you use Aweber's javascript snippet for your 'form' the millions of people using Firefox's AdBlocker will not see it.

That means you're sending people to your page to sign up, and they can't see where they need to sign up!

So, you MUST use the HTML code.

However, the problem is you then don't get the stats (which sucks).

There is a solution though.
1. After adding your HTML code, go back and copy the javascript code too.

2. Add the javascript in a 'div' like this below your HTML (note: change the curly brackets '{' and '}' to the angled brackets like '<' and '>')

{div style="display:none;"}Enter Aweber Javascript Here{/div}
By doing this, the javascript is still on the page to record the stats, but people don't see it. They use the visible HTML form instead.

I hope this helps some of you.

    JK,

What a great tip. As a 'thank you' I have one for you!

If you use aweber, you'll pay $69 a month for the first 10,000 subscribers. If you go to AutomateYourList Autoresponder & Newsletters: Unlimited Follow Up Autoresponders Increase Email Deliverability. you'll get aweber's service for $19.95 for the first 10,000! Same service, just a reseller account.

Btw, if you already have aweber and are worried about losing your existing list or having two accounts, don't worry. You can contact aweber and tell them you want to transfer your account to AutomateYourList Autoresponder & Newsletters: Unlimited Follow Up Autoresponders Increase Email Deliverability. and they'll do it for you for free and you get the huge discount!

    Talk to you soon.

      I took a look Mike.

Very tempting to make the switch.

Are there any negatives? Does it offer the new features that Aweber recently released?

Seems a little odd. How come you can get the 'same' service for cheaper?

        Hi JK,

I contacted Aweber by chat and asked them about becoming a reseller and it costs $5,000 and you must have at least 250 subscribers that are willing to use the service. They use the exact same service, any new features are new news to me and I would ask them if they're included, but I think it's not going to be any different. Otherwise people like Armand Morin and Michael Rasmusen (both resellers) would not be pleased.

I already made the switch and have had no problems.

Are YOU getting the FULL analytics with them that the new Aweber pricing gives you from a regular Aweber account?

I'm not sure if the reseller accounts have an option to upgrade their reseller account so they can offer the Aweber extras for the higher price or not.

I knew about the reseller sites charging the regular $19.95/mo. But I thought that was without the NEW Aweber analytics stuff.

            That's the question Mike.

Aweber now offers new features: Email Web Analytics: Understand Your Subscribers - Inbox Ideas: Email Marketing Tips by AWeber

Your offer doesn't include that. So really, it's not "the same service".

However, I haven't upgraded and as a current customer, I continue to pay the old pricing which is $19.95/month for up to 10,000 subscribers.

So for me, there's no point to switch.

But for some people who haven't got an Aweber account yet, they may want to ignore the new features and take up your offer of paying under the old pricing structure.

I am aware - jvlistpro.com - is another private label reseller using aweber. Similar pricing structures, much better than aweber direct pricing.

Interesting- which stats do you miss if just using the HTML code?

HTML won't record the number of displays, so you can't get your conversion rate.

You could work it out with web stats (like Google Analytics) which tells you how many people are visiting your site, and then work out the conversion rate by the number of subscribers you're getting.

But that's more work, and not as accurate.

    Great tip JK.

But I have to wonder if there are more people using the javascript blocker than there are people who view source and go to the thankyou page without opting in?

Something they can't do with the javascript version.

      You're welcome 'mucker'

Easy to solve that problem... my thank you page is set up primarily to show people how to confirm their subscription. So if you go to it, there's nothing for you.

My first email sends the information required to get the freebie (usually a download link). This way I protect myself and my subscribers from unlawful nasties who can't abide by the 'rules'.

      dsmpublishing,
You've misread the thread dude. You don't get extras with the reseller account.

    mrsleep99,
    Is that with IE6?

So that's another benefit, which is great.

    Harry,
Glad to be of help. It should help you get a more accurate understanding of the conversion rate of your page.

If I just signed up with Aweber about a week ago; would you recommend that I go with the re-seller account or continue using the new Aweber account?

What are the benefits between the two? I have never had a list before; just learning about building one right now. Currently I do not have any one signed up for my list; just added the web form a couple days ago.

    Thanks for your feedback

      Hey Susan!

It really depends how serious you are, and what part your list plays in your business.

If it's important for you to be able to determine the effectiveness of your email subject lines; or if it will enhance your profits by being able to send out targeted broadcast messages to those who didn't open the first one. Then it's a no-brainer. Stick with the benefits of having the new features.

If however your list is more casual, then perhaps being able to have up to 10,000 people for $20 would appeal to you.

If you learn to use the new features effectively, they will empower your email marketing.

      Hope this helps!
