Firefox ahead of IE in Europe

It seems like Chrome has cut into the IE user base lately. I can understand that part. A lot of Google stuff seems better than MS. (But not always.)

A couple of links about it, climbing reddit right now.

Right Now In Tech: Firefox #1 browser in Europe!

Firefox surpasses IE in Europe « Livbit

At least with the IE market share shrinking, the IE 6 market share has to be going down.

This is a sad day for IM. IE converts twice as well as any other browser. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one with similar stats.

I would never use it, but still...

  • It's hard to believe that MS let IE slip in to such a useless browser given they could have dominated the market place very easily.

I will always prefer FF with the add-ons its such a greeat tool.

I used to like using Firefox, but I find it, well frankly, annoying. I find Chrome to be much more user friendly and streamlined. Oh and did anyone see Google is looking for testers for it's new Chrome OS platform? I signed up. Free notebook? I could go for that.

I only tend to use FF these days i hate using IE i guess the only time i use IE these days is to see how a new website of ours looks as sometimes they dont look right in that browser.I think Microsoft are loosing ground in alot of areas and not been keeping up with the times.

The only thing that puts me off Chrome is: What does Google do with all the information they're bound to get from you just by tracking your browsing habits? If they can read your Gmail messages and target ads based on the content, what can they do with a comprehensive browsing history? I find it hard to believe they don't have a purpose in mind.

I'm a dedicated Firefox user BTW (and yes, I'm in Europe).

Eh, yes that is a concern. Still, I am so frustrated with my FF browser these days that having to use it is like pulling teeth for me.
