How to establish a business relationship

Hello Warriors,

Has it been an exciting 5 days or what? This year is off to a fantastic start, and I've been noticing the awesome quality of posts lately. I envy the noobs discovering the forum for the first time, because they are getting some real treats.

What I wanted to talk about today is maintaining a relationship with your clients after you've closed a sale. Good customer service is one of the cornerstones of any business. We have to give our customers a reason to keep coming back.

Here are a few things that I like to do:

If my clients have given me a phone number, I like to call them two or three weeks after they've purchased a service of mine, and just ask them how things are going. It's a nice little touch, and it gives them a voice to associate with your product.

Create a newsletter: This is not the same as your typical mailing list. The goal is not to sell anything. Just to maintain a communal feel for your business. My business newsletter, for example, contains success stories from my clients that have successfully implemented my strategies. This makes your base feel good. They trust your brand more, because they are a part of it. When it comes time to launch the next thing, these people will be the first on board.

This third thing is the most important: Be accessible. Your clients have their own schedules, and will often have questions, comment, or concerns for which they'd like some feedback. Ideally you don't want to keep them waiting more than an hour during normal business hours. But at the maximum, do not take more than a day to get back to them. These are established customers that have willingly given you money. You owe them that much.

Feel free to add any tips you can think of, because no matter how good your customer service is, IT CAN ALWAYS BE BETTER
