Need Some Advice, buying parked domains

I purchased a .ca domain and noticed the .com is doing nothing, but being parked. A while ago a friend of mine checked out godaddy to see if a domain for a site I wanted was available, before I could stop her it was too late (and at the time it was available) she entered it and now I see they purchased the name. I know that when they see other TLD's of that name getting popular etc. they hike up the price even more. So before I get the .ca going viral, I would like some input on what's the best service to use to buy the .com so I don't end up paying thousands of dollars for it.

Thanks

Someone else commented here about names becoming godaddy primium offerings after looking it up.

Just don't use the godaddy domain search, or if you do, hide your domain in a batch search group, making it less likely to be picked out for price inflation. There are tons of domain lookup services with better intelligence.

Yeah I know not to do that, hence the reason why I tried to stop her, have had names hijacked from them before, but before I could stop her she already typed it in. And I was the complaints recently about them, when people were promoting them.

PM me the name and I'll take a quick look for you. This is my specialty. If it's truly a great domain name, it should and will cost thousands. Parking names is using them to provide visitors with links relevant to what they are looking for.
