When I joined an offline service a while ago, by giving them my bank details they were able to automatically take a certain amount of $$ from my account each month. I'm starting a offline businesses venture soon and would like to be able to do the same with businesses I strike deals with. BTW I live in Australia Anyone know how I can do this. What software do I require if any? Thanks ![]() Ernie. |

HI Ernie, yes you could use something lik Infusionsoft as I do, that that still would not give you what I think you are asking for. There are three types of Automated payments. The first is via Credit Card and that is easy with Paypal Subscription. Easy to set up and easy to implement, 5 mins on the paypal site should get your there. The next is Standing Order, where you ping somebodies credit card. That is good and works via Merchant Accounts Etc. That is what I run through my Infusionsoft, charge backs etc are very low for my business and this saves me about 15 hours a month in charging etc, so well worth the monthly investments. Next is what I think you are talking about and want. Direct Debit (mainly for use from their bank accounts to yours). Options in Australia are Ezi Debt in Queensland. Fill in about 5 froms and a bit of stuff about you and that should get you an account, maybe an account fee but its peanuts. The other option is Eway.com.au they can help you with Credit Cards, if you have a merchant account and they have just started doing Direct Debits. Account Sign up is Free. Not sure if you can just join and do only direct debit, but I think you can. I know Ezi debit does both bank accounts and credit cards. Now the thing about direct debit and bank accounts are that once you have it set up they hardly ever fail as the client gets pinged $32 dishonor charge is they do. Because you have a signed bit of paper (although you can do the over the phone things) the Bank put much more onus on the client than the vendor. If you want to set this up in the USA you have to have a company over there, which might be too expensive. Hope this helps, if you have more specifics let me know and I'll see if I can help. I have set this up for quite a few clients. |

Hi Ernie, This is how I do it, I am in the UK but I am sure you will be able to do this with any bank in the world! I have a business account setup and for every customer I sign up I send them what is called a standing order form, kind of like a direct debit. I set the form up so all they do is fill in there details in the relevant places on the form. My business account details are already on it and the price. Then all they need to do is send that to there bank and there bank will setup an automated payment to your account from there account on the date you have stated and the amount you have stated! Its called a Standing Order in the UK but I am sure every major bank in every country has a similar setup. I would call your bank and tell them what you want to do and they will let you know how to do it! For this service there are no charges!!! HTH GoGetta |

Ernie, I thought paypal had a setup for processing offline payments. You might want to check them out first.
