Would you promote a clickbank item using a vendors php link?

Hi,

I was hoping to promote a new product over the next few days but the problem is that the vendors affiliate page does not show the normal clickbank style link.

It's like this http://vendordomainname.com/go.php?offer=XXXX&pid=2
and states replace xxxxx with your cb id.

So I've sent some traffic using the vendors link with my cb id, but I've noticed that this vendors hops are not being recorded in clickbank.

Is the vendor screwing his affiliates? would you promote without the cb link?

I've actually promoted for this vendor before and done very well but it all seems a little "off" this time.

Thanks
Lee

Is your affiliate ID appearing on the bottom of the buy page?

If yes, I would promote it. If no, I wouldn't.

check the sales page and see if the affid shows up. if it does you are probably fine.

Clickbank drops tons of sales as it is (do some test sign ups if you don't believe me) so I think adding another layer of complexity is a very, very bad idea. I would not use the vendor's code, I would use the real one from Clickbank.

Hey guys, just read what the OP posted:

the product is in prelaunch and the[re] is no buy option at the moment.
I guess the vendor is building a pre-launch list with the affiliates' id added to it and hopefully the "run now and buy" email will contain the aff ids.

It can be done easily and honest marketers do it (basically, securing you a lifetime commission)... so it comes down to whether you trust the vendor or not.
