Sticky: Request - Search Before Posting A Duplicate Question

Just a suggestion, but the forum has been getting more and more clogged up with so many duplicate questions that have already been answered multiple times...

It's getting old seeing the same questions come up every week... when we know they have been discussed already...

Nobody seems to know how to use the 'Search Feature'!

Can we make the 'Search Feature' more visible, make it sticky, add it to the rules, or something???

I think just this simple step would make the forum run much more efficiently, without having so many duplicate topics to deal with...

Just my 2cents...

I want to take the opportunity to make an argument against this (my argument is with Jared, not Big Mike...everyone knows you can't argue with a drunken Greek )

One reason is because sometimes when the question is asked multiple times, you get a different set of answers and discussion each time the question is asked. You get different perspectives as different people participate in the thread than did the last time that question was asked.

For example, how to drive traffic to your site is one of the most frequesntly asked questions here. Yet, you Jared, gave an outstanding reply when this question was asked recently in this thread:
    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...e-traffic.html

Your reply was so good that I thanked you for it! I've read tons of "driving traffic" threads but still learned something new in your reply (especially some sites I was previously unaware of).

I agree that seeing the same questions asked repeatedly tends to get old, but the discussions that follow usually are fresh each time the question is asked. Furthermore, with changes occurring quite rapidly in this industry, the question asked last month may have a different answer than that same question being asked this month.

OK BIG Mike & ptone... you've got me... both of you have changed my mind on this matter...

    I know when to concede...

I guess what I was personally annoyed about at the time I hastily posted was the really simple - no-brainer - questions that are constantly being asked... but even the simplest questions can spark a good conversation & exchange of knowledge...

Not to mention the fact that after a day or two, most posts are on the second page anyways...

My bad... on with the same questions with different responses!

Let's see ... Allen made a post about spammers, then you felt it necessary to start a new thread on virtually the same topic (albeit with a poorly-worded subject line,) now you start this thread reiterating what was already covered in those two threads, and now you want to talk about the forum getting "clogged up?"

    Pot, meet kettle...

I think FORCING the new members to read a few rules is a good idea.
I really don't remember if I had to read such thing when I first signed up...
