$5K to Spend on Local...What strategies?

Hey guys,

Been following the forum for a long time. I have been doing web work for local companies in new york for about 4 years and now I am taking the plunge to build my own companies.

I never dived too deep into SEO, which was a bad decision. We were 100% PPC.

So here's the question, I have $5K to get my local service company a good push online, what do you recommend?

IP's, articles, links, sites, etc etc???

Appreciate your help. I'm looking to spend as much as possible to guys on the forum once I can get my head around what I need to do.

Buying a working site can be the fastest way to get traffic. Buying the right high search domain name, perhaps a prime $ name from a speculator.

I'm not as hip as others as to how to target local seo, beyond NY in your kw use. If you have an office address, be sure it's in the contact info to help local ID.

Google local is important for any business with an address, there are a paid business registry that google consults as well as the super/yellow page sites get the same exact address into all of them, and get reviews.

I would say just stick with what you're already doing PPC. Don't mean to burst your bubble or anything but with SEO comes a lot of hard and tedious work. Like back links optimization and it can take quite some time to get your site organically ranked in the top search engines

I would just take the 5000 and reinvest it in PPC. Just my opinion but that's the way I see it.

I was in your position not too long ago (although I didn't have 5k to spend).
I would invest in a quality keyword tool and then learn how to really use it. You can then reverse engineer sites and build quality back links to your site. You would be surprised how easy this is to do if you do it right. All the best.

What do you mean by reverse engineer sites exactly?
