Americans ignoring banner ads?

Although I am making some good percentage on banner conversions, I think webpronews is pretty right.

Among those who ignore Internet ads, 43 percent say they ignore banner ads the most and 20 percent say they ignore search engine ads the most. Smaller percentages say they ignore television ads (14%), radio ads (7%) and newspaper ads (6%); just 9% of Americans say they don't ignore any of the listed types of ads.
Is the call of action better than banner ads?

In the story cited, where the people polled users of WebProNews?

If so, those people are IT and IMers, so they are naturally jaded about online advertising.

I would bet that the case, because if those questions were asked of my mom, wife or brother, you would hear a chorus of, "What?!?"
