Should I do this one every few days or once a week, month..

any ideas?

    Ping any time you add a fresh content though WordPress has an in-built pingomatic.

    You should ping your site every time you add new content, this can be text, video, pictures, even if you just change around pictures on your site you should ping it.

    If you're using WordPress, hopefully YOU won't have to do the pinging...

    In your wpadmin, under settings and then writing, you should see Update Services at the bottom.

    Those sites should be notified when you make an update to the site.

    If you're using wordpress their system does it automatically, if your using different platforms to publish your material they may not have this built in, so you'll have to go it alone. If that is the case you should do this everytime you create new content or change something on your website or blog.

    You should ping your site or sub domains whenever you update your site or blog and also bookmark the posted article link in some major social bookmarking sites.
