New Year Resolution suggestion - hit the unsubscribe button?

2010 seemed to be a big year for the blind sales copy - massively hypey sales letters which did not actually tell you what the product did.

Worse than that, a vast amount of them contained at least one outright lie - that the sales of the product would be limited.

Some people call that no more than 'marketing technique' (usually the affiliates). Yes, it *is* a marketing technique, but it's still lying.

So, here's a suggestion for a 2011 resolution. If anyone sends you an email promoting one of these products, unsubscribe from their list.
If they promote a product which they know uses a lie on the sales page, what does it say about the product itself, and what does it say about them for promoting it to you?

Are they interested in you, or is your money their top priority?
I have no problem whatsoever in people promoting things to me via email, but as 2010 came to an end I had really had my fill of people sending me these things.

If people unsubscribed en masse, maybe telling the list owner the reason, then maybe market forces would put an end to what I consider a pretty odious tactic.

It's going on my resolution list anyway!
Happy 2011 everyone!
Gordon

I couldn't agree more. I got so many of those last year. One day I got exactly the same email from 3 different marketers. Clearly they were just bombing out the products affiliate resources and sending the same email marketing messages as each other. One of the best things I've done in the last 6 months is lay off buying products that are hyped up and just got down to some good old fashion work. You'll be amazed how you can start making money once you do this.
