Newbie in need of help

Hi guys

This is my first post but have been browsing this fantastic forum for a good few months and i know you guys are the ones to help me as before i found this i purchased some "make $millions in 10min" programs, needless to say they did not work (naive i know).

Anyway i think i have a base plan to get started but need help with a couple of things and if anyone would be so kind as to help i would be much appreciated and i understand these questions more than likely have been asked before so a link to the post will be very helpful.

Find Amazon products to sell
Q. how do i find out which ones are going to convert well?

Keyword Research
Q. i really have no clue how to do this effectively, all i know about is google keyword tool, help?

Build website
This i can do

Promote Website
i guess this links back to keyword research, but the only ways i know to promote a site are twitter, facebook, articles, forums, hubpages, squidoo, youtube, help?

And thats about, so as you can guess i need help.

Thank you in advance for any comments and advice you can give to a struggling newbie, think i may have had a bit of information overload and just need a clear structure.

    In regards to your Amazon question, you can sort all of their products by "bestsellers". Those are the ones you want to promote. Preferably higher ticket items like $100 and over so you get a decent commission.

    Hi Marko,

    A good way to get some hands on learning experience that's free is to look up Ed Dale and The Challenge. He has a free course that you can do online and it's very good for learning keyword research and basic marketing.

    You don't have to of course, it's just a suggestion but it doesn't give you a nice bit of IM basic knowledge.

    You first need to ask yourself..." Am I into this just for the Money" or "Am I into this because I Love being in business for myself regardless of earning Money". Watch out if Money is your only goal. We are not all Warren Buffet's. I certainly don't want to discourage you. Instead I want to save you time and frustration. I teach basic Web site building,Keyword research and Promoting a web site plus much more.

    I've earned from Amazon in the past and it's pretty straight forward. You ask "which products convert well?". Preferably higher priced items obviously because when you get a sale, might as well be an acceptable profit margin, but then again, that's open to debate since you could sell multiple $9.95 product that sells like hot cupcakes, but for that you need to research consumer buying trends and your inner intuition will also play a role.

    There are too many factors to name in detail in this lone reply of mine concerning selling on Amazon, but for the rest, I can give you a straighter answer.

    I use a combination of research, including looking at trends, new products soon to come out, Amazon hot product reports. Google Insight and Trends, consumer reports, etc.
    Beyond Google Keyword tool there is www.marketsamurai.com/

    To be honest, Squidoo and Hub Pages serves many purposes. They both are great sources of income and will teach you about on-page SEO. The other huge thing is that you can research a niche BEFORE you commit to a web site. If it does well, then build a site and point your other pages to your main site.

    I use a combination of linkbuilding and traffic generating sources. The question to ask is; 'where does the specific market hang out?'

    If you are selling ladies purses, then go to sites that have these people. You get the idea. Develop a good reputation.

    I don't always go with bestsellers but they are a good starting point, just so long as a product has 30+ 4 or 5 star reviews in amazon, I'd review that.

    When it comes to promoting your website, something like article marketing can be pretty effective, where you have your main review on your site and then speed write some articles and submit them to directories and link them to your site.

    Market products you actually enjoy using or want to buy, it is much easier to place ads all day if you enjoy the work.

    List your interests and what you know about and start there.

    Which Amazon product is going to convert well is not only about the product itself. there are other factors to consider:
    -How do you presell them
    -If they are the best products to promote with the keyword you are using.

    Keyword research is a crucial step so take your time to learn how to do it. Keyword research tools will give you the data, but you must know how to analize them.

    The best and easy way to get traffic for Niche sites is Google. Depending on the niche forums and blogs can also help. Learn SEO and learn how to rank well you sites.

    A good advice is to pay attention to what is being advertised on TV, radio and all other media.. you can find great products to market by doing this or atleast a starting point
