What Do You Want To Do With Your Money?

It's simple, really. Everyone's here to make money online. To have that extra free time and not worry about bills.

But what about the money you make extra? Are you just going to let all of it sit in a savings account forever?

It's a thread about goals, and things you'd love to do if you got the chance. IM can give you that chance, so what would you do if you could?

Me personally, I'd travel the country/world a bit. I love going to comic/game conventions, and enjoy meeting new people in an environment full of things we can relate about and talk about. It's cool talking to celebrities too! The last con I went to (It was less than 180 miles away) I got to meet Lou Ferrigno, Joe Maduiera, Shaffer The Darklord, met the cast of Human Centipede, Billy D. Williams, Angus Oblong (creator of the show "The Oblongs", went out and had a beer with the guy), and even got to hear Adam West say "Stand aside citizens, old man coming through!" to a small crowd he had to get past.

I'd also travel to all the Games Day events that are hosted by Games Workshop. Just nothing but miniature players meeting, playing, painting, looking for stuff to buy, and have fun.

I especially want to go to a Games Day UK, home of the Warhammer franchise, and have a blast visiting the castle used for the event!

I love making costumes to go to these things. I went as The Shadow to the last con I went to.

Yeah, I'm a Nerd, but I love to have fun, and this is what I want to be able to do all the time when my business is able to be run from wherever I decide to go.

What about you?

What do you wan to do?

-Sean

I figure you can't take it with you, so I'd like to see it go on life experiences. Going to interesting places, seeing good theatre.. things that make life richer. We're coming up to 20 years married at the end of this month, and we're not doing presents. After all this time, we don't need more "stuff". So, we're off to New Zealand for a trail race, something we'll both enjoy doing. I'd spend money on more of that!

    Interesting thread!

I'm going to be honest. I don't really have the time anymore to spoil myself. I guess once things calm down for me, I can eventually do something that I want to do...

I mean for new IMers, This should be some motivation. If you want to do something, I think you should give it all you got and try to set goals for yourself. In this game, You're wasting your time if you are lazy. Rewards come from hard work. Hopefully Ma and Pa told you the real world costs money to live a comfortable lifestyle.

@Audrey New Zealand sounds like a fun place to go, from everyone I've ever talked to about traveling.

@Jake I think that's all any of us really want to do, is to be able to go where we want when we want.

Awesome guys! Keep it coming. What goal do you have? Where do you want to go or do in the next year?

Now we're talking about goals? Awesome.

    1) I plan on expanding my hosting business.
    2) I plan on getting more offline clients.
    3) I plan on expanding my websites.

This market is really never ending. I don't want to be some big dog, but I also don't want to be the smallest fish in the sea. I'm going to work hard, work hard and work hard. Working hard has really paid off for me.

The main reason I got into internet marketing is so I can play poker full time. I don't want poker to be my main source of income, I wanted to generate income while I play so I could eliminate the stress factor and play the game without worrying about money. Great way to socialize and network also.

Cool thread, makes you realize why we do what we do while everybody is out there slaving away at their 9-5 job.

Profits from IM have helped me live a few dreams, including:

    * traveling to many countries
    * writing a novel (fiction) - without worrying about having to sell it!
    * buying toys I want (not many, but some are expensive)
    * choosing a low stress lifestyle, given the nature of my professional work

    and most important,

    * to fund expensive heart surgery for 73 under-privileged kids

In a single simple phrase, it has helped me "to live my dreams".

And as I mentioned in a recent blog post about personal finance,

"Ultimately, that's what money and wealth are really about.
Setting you free to live your dreams.
    "
