Best Online Payment Processing!

Hi all,

I have a website which will allow people can buy information products online. As I am starting my business I do not want to open a merchant account. my question is:

1- Which is the best payment processing to use which allow people to use their credit card?

2- Not using a merchant account reduces the payment rate. For example: some people do not like the idea of having to open a Pay-Pal account to make payments so they do not buy.

What is the solution for that. I do not want to open a merchant account but I also want customers to have the confidence to make payment online.

Thank you very much for your time and attention.

Kind regards,
mbacchi

I recommend 2checkout.com and fastspring.com Both are great options and both also allow your customers to use either a credit card or paypal.

Although I'll be using 2Checkout and Paypal for my membership site, it's not live yet.

But you can take a look at CartoonSmart, where I'm one of the instructors and a forum admin, who are using both Paypal and 2Checkout.

I've been very happy with PayPal so far. Since merchant accounts for international payments and having said merchant accounts integrated with membership systems can be a real pain (particularly since I'm not a US resident and accept payments in US Dollars), I'm looking at giving PayPal Website Payments Pro a go.

This is basically the payment processor/payment gateway solution by PayPal, where you integrate the payment process on your site. To the buyer, it's simply a "pay by credit card" option and it's not visibly handled by PayPal.

I'm still looking into this, so I can't report on how well this works out, yet. But I think it's an option non-US vendors should definitely know about. All other solutions I've seen so far are more complicated and/or more expensive.

Thank you very much for your quick reply!

I know that people do not like the idea of opening a PayPal account to do payment. I will have a look at the PayPal Website Payments Pro and let you know if I decide to implement it.

Do you know anything about the PayPal Payments Pro costs? Can it be implemented with 1Shoppingcart or Infusionsoft?

      Many thanks!

        I think it's 30 bucks a month plus fees.

Integration: I'll have to get on the phone with a rep next week to ask about integration as well as a few other things. See, if they use the same IPN system for payments pro as they do for PayPal standard, then integration will be a breeze!

I agree that it's best to have a "pay with credit card" option as well as a "pay with paypal" one. In the ecommerce business I used to be in, we saw up to 20% increase in orders from offering this option, so it's defintely worthwhile.

PayPro payproglobal.com can be a good option for you. It is a 3rd party payment processor. Customers may pay with the credit card, PayPal, check, wire transfer, WebMoney, choose phone/fax order as well.

Just to clarify, your customers do not have to signup for a PayPal account in order to pay via credit card through PayPal. On the order page, they can click the "Don't Have a PayPal Account?" link and pay with their credit card or debit card.

    Luckily, they don't need to.

People buying something through PayPal don't need a PayPal account.

Make it clear to your customers that they don't need a PayPal account to pay that way.

Just to be clear, selling with clickbank does not require the use of a paypal account? It is my understanding that all sales get sent by check. Is this true?
