Productivity Software?

I am looking for a software that can lock the use of certain programs so I can get things done. It's very tempting when you work at home to just play videogames all day, but I'd rather get stuff done for at least 4 or 5 hours in the morning, so can anyone recommend me something that would be able to lock things for a specific period of time?

I guess there are such programs, but why bother? If you can lock them, you can unlock them.

Perhaps you would be happier if you did a little research on the nature of self-discipline and learn what motivates you to abandon your work.

As donhx says, the problem is you can unlock them very easily if you know the password.

If you're really desperate, you'll probably want to check out Spectorsoft and ask someone you trust to set the password and not give it to you.

I believe the software can do everything you require and more, including blocking programs for specific periods of time during the day.

It's used by many businesses to monitor their employees, block programs etc to increase their productivity.

Well what I'd like is just a timer where it won't allow me to open certain programs or websites. That would be nice. And it would be unlockable for X number of hours, giving me ample time to do what I need to do for the day.

That is exactly what Spectorsoft can do ...

"You can block Internet and Program access by day of week and/or by time of week."

Buy it for $99.95, go into the settings and turn the features off you don't need (probably most of them)

Then set it to block whatever programs/websites you want, and choose the times you want them blocked.

Get someone else to set a new password, tell them to keep it safe and not give it to you.

          Mission accomplished.
