How Much Would You Pay For This Website ?

I built this website for a friend of mine..I didn't make a whole lot of money and put in quite a bit of work...I like to do a good job and I was dam happy to make some money !

I Still Got some work to do still yet..I also did a facebook fan page along with it to..The really kool thing is these blogs are tied to facebook comments and the like button is placed nicely under the post and pages...

These blogs are quite contempary, look great and very effective on a local level and leveraged with Facebook..

I could spend many hours SEO just the blog , I did permalinks , catergories and added some content.. I also did 5 tutorials bring them up to speed enough to change the content..

My Question is this What would your judgment be of the value of something might be like this ?

Also any ideas you might can give me for how and where to best start promoting some kinda package built off this website structure..

Oh By the Way , I got $200 dollars for this...

Before I became successful online, I looked at getting a website created
for an offline business/idea I had at the time and the quotes I got from
web design companies/businesses ranged from $500 (1-2 pages) all the
way upto $2,000 (5 pr more pages).

So because your site creation has more than 5 pages
and looks very professional, I would say you could have
sold it for alot more than you did.

I just took a look at your site you made.

I'm a web designer by trade, I'll admit the graphics aren't great, and the template is pretty basic. To me getting $200 for that blog is a good price especially if its your first one you did.

I don't really make up my price off of pages. I usually look at what the person wants is it going to take a lot of work/time will I have to get some help etc.

If your graphics where a little better and the site design over all wasn't basic then I'd charge more. If you look around the people who charge a lot pretty much customize the site to fit the user with a great look and feel.

Hopefully I'm not being to mean but I'm just giving my honest opinion and I think you should be very please with the $200 you got.

Just try to improve your work on each new site, and even make up demo sites for practice just so you can learn and get better.

Honestly, it depends on where you find work.

You can get such websites made for $30-50 at freelancer.com. At Elance it will probably cost $100+.

A pro with his own website and a registered company may charge $250-500 or more.

But for a person who is new to all this, you have got an excellent price. Perhaps, much more than what people make 6 months or even a year down the line if working at Freelancer or perhaps even at Guru.

Alexa rank is nothing, it is worthless in the grand scheme of things and I think the OP got a very good deal.

One thing that makes the site hard to sell:

The REALLY bad domain name...(who the hell is Melvin?) and did another Melvin buy it?

$200 is a good deal for you, take the money and run!

I think it is a fair price.

For 1, I imagine that Melvin has no idea how to do this himself and probably doesn't know about freelancer.com and such.

Therefore, you gave him a web presence that he can use to show he's not some fly-by-night outfit which will in turn help get him more business than the other guys who don't.

I applaud you for taking your time and putting int he work to do it as best you can. You'll learn a lot faster this way and will get better.

Think of it this way, he just paid you $200 to get better at webdesign and now you have at least one thing in your portfolio.

I think you could have got a bit more for it.
I make simple websites similar to this one and charge $500.
The only difference is my sites look a little "cleaner".

Also, in terms of business the site doesn't make a lot of sense.
Under the services section when you click a link instead of learning more about the service you learn general information about the topic.

If the owner is using this site to generate business you need to tell more about what he has to offer rather then provide information about the topic.
