Customer's Winzip Problem

Hi guys,

I got an email from a customer but don't know exactly how to reply to her. I was wondering if you could help. She has downloaded Winzip but still can't open the zip files. Here's her email:

I installed the zip file as suggested but when I try to open the e-book download (as well as all the other downloads) it just keeps showing the box asking if I want to open the file. I click "open" and it just brings up the same box again--and again--and again. Please help.

Would appreciate any advice.

Not sure if we're talking about the same thing here, but she needs to "EXTRACT" the file(s).

Has she tried doing that?

  Why don't you get her on skype and talk her through it? That way you can find out exactly what she is doing, as well.

  Well my guess is there's a password involved, or Winzip hasn't been installed (properly). Ask her to do "Print Screen" and send you the message's pic.

  One issue may be that she's using Winzip. I have always thought the options were confusing.
  
  IMO, the best zip/unzip program out there is 7 ZIP which is free. You can check it out here: 7-Zip
  
  It is a one click deal to unzip a file, and it even shows the folder where the unzipped file will be located.

  Can she RIGHT click on the file and in the popup screen that appears place her mouse cursor over the the 2nd Winzip (not Open) she should be able to extract it. Or try having her download WinRar (I think that's the name)
