What is the easiest tool to create animated banners ?

INTERNET MARKETING

Is it Photoshop ? Gimp ? Some other software ?

Or maybe an online tool ?

I just want to animate words in banners.

I know you can do some simple animation (animated GIFs) with Adobe Fireworks (formerly Macromedia). Not sure if there are any free or online equivalents though.

I have used Serif Draw Plus 4.0 to do some simple animations, but I haven't really done that many, so I can't say how detailed you can get with it.

It is a free download though, so worth checking out.

I use it quite a bit otherwise for graphics.

The main drawback is that it only saves in .dpp format.

You have the ability to export to other formats, but then can't reopen with the same program.

You have to be sure you have a finished product before you export it.

I guess free sometimes has a price after all.

Photoshop is good and you can also try BannerSnack it is an online banner maker app that allows you to create interactive flash banner ads and other types of flash content very quickly.

I use Easy Gif Animator for creating animated banners. Just insert your files into the software and choose animation style (4-5 styles are there). Then you can save them as .gif file.

Okay, I know this is not going to be a tool, but it is a site, which is fiverr.com!!!

It's wonderful. Just make sure to sort results by ratings.

  I'm with Matt on this one - if you don't know how to do something efficiently and can spend your time doing more productive things then outsource for a fiverr and get on with your other tasks.

  There are lot of different ways to create banners: use a graphics program, use a special banner creation program, use templates you can edit, use an online service, or get somebody to design a banner for you. You might find this tutorial helpful: How to design a banner
  
  One note of caution, many business owners like banners that look like stereotypical banner adverts with fancy animation and pretty graphics... But savvy business owners like banners that produce a high response. Banners that produce the highest response are often those that look less like stereotypical banner ads.
  
  The only way to be sure is to test lots of different designs & campaigns, and for each design/campaign track the effectiveness of the banner. Here is how I would track:

Animated Banner Maker is a banner design tool that saves output files as GIF.
The application allows creating banners basing on supplied templates (over 300 examples). Static or moving text can be inserted. Background can be replaced, size can be changed, movie clip insertion and re-location, effects to apply can be selected, etc.
