Are you loosing out on valuable traffic?

I've decided to put this little post together to give some people who are new to SEO some tips to squeeze more traffic out of the search engines.

Note: If you're advanced in SEO then this post will be obvious & of little help to you.

What I'm going to explain is something I've never really seen mentioned & it's something I had to figured out for myself but I'm sure some newbies could benefit from this post.

Okey – lets get started!

Step one in building a website that's going to rank well in the search engines is keyword selection.

When we have our niche idea what we then do is go to the Google keyword tool to find a keyword with a decent amount of monthly searches.

We then take this keyword ( after competition research ), build a website & optimised it to rank for the keyword. But did you know that you can squeeze a lot more traffic out of your site with more than just that main keyword?

Lets say we're going to build a site that promotes a product on Amazon. In this example we'll use the product/keyword "coffee maker"

Now lets say this keyword gets 8,000 exact match local searches per month – that's great you're thinking... but we can do better.

What we're going to do is add an (s) the the end of the product keyword. By adding an (s) we're actually targeting a different keyword as Google looks at "coffee maker" & "coffee makers" as two different things.

If you go back to the Google keyword tool we find that "coffee makers(s)" gets 5,000 searches a month so lets optimise for that keyword too.

In fact while you're in the Google keyword tool see if you can find another keyword like "coffee maker reviews" or "best Coffee maker" - we'll optimise for that too.

So instead of just targeting our main keyword "coffee maker" at 8,000 searches a month we target this...

coffee maker 8,000
coffee makers 5,000
coffer maker reviews 2,000

So we not have a total of 15,000 searches a month – wouldn't it be nice to rank for all these keywords. Well depending on the competition it's not as had as you mite think.

In fact I have a fairly new site that ranks in the top 5 of Google page 1 just like the example above & this is how I do it.

Place these keywords in...
  • Page title
  • Description
  • Meta tags
  • Within the content
  • Anchor text back links
Your site title & description mite look like this...

The Coffee maker site | Best priced coffee makers & reviews
Read our coffee maker reviews & get the best price online today!
We have a selection of the top rated coffee makers.
www. thecoffeemakersite .com/

See how I've fitted all the target keywords within title & description. Simply add these keywords within your main page content, meta tags & also mix up your back links with the keywords to further increase rankings for them.

Hope this has been helpful to someone
