How much should a decent product review set me back?

I have a few niche sites up and running, with a few more niches yet to be launched (bless those GoDaddy 99 centers!) and am now looking to fill them with decent (and converting) reviews of various products. I've checked out a couple of freelancing sites but have been quite frankly shocked at the garbage I get back (admittedly cheap).

Question is: what will a decent writer (and no, I don't need a copyrighting wizz) charge for approx 500-600 words of decent content? And where do I find that decent writer?

I'm so peeved at the junk I've recieved so far I'm even thinking of writing the reviews myself...

    My sentiments as well

Finding good free lancers is hard

For about every 10 I hire if I get one good I am lucky, and with the economy going as it is the bad ones are coming out of the woodwork

It was not like this a few years ago when most people had jobs but today its a different world

As far as paying it depends on your budget, but I don't think paying high is the way to go

Keep looking till you find someone of value give them an incentive to stay with you and work with them

Otherwise as the old saying goes, if you want it done right do it yourself

I am not sure as to why so many have problems with finding freelance writers. For I have only had one writer out of 20 who really did not do what I wanted. However I treat the writer as an employee for that is what they really are.

Before I choose a writer I always have them give me some work before hand. If they can not provide me with atleast a rewrite of something then they are not worth using in the first place. Now this is just my oppion and maybe that is way I have had decent luck with writers.

However the one writer that failed the job I gave them. Was a brand new writer. After talking with him for few days on the project I figured he had an idea of what I wanted and would be able to do the job well. The writer also was not able to provide anything I could review. So alot of it was my fault but I did give him a chance.

When it was all said and done he got a very poor review from me. Now I stick with 4 writers only. However if they are busy I can always find a good writer. Go have a look at vworker I have grown to love that site and the workers.

As to your question as to how much a review would cost. It really depends how many words you would like on the review. For I personally only give about 3-5 per review. Although they are also only 500 words or less. My only real concern when they write for me is that they do have some knowledge of seo. It helps a lot if you are trying to rank for a really tough keyword.

Hope this helps best of luck to you. If you would like I do not know if one of my writers is taking any new clients at the moment but I can get a hold of her for you. She is really reasonable and does some really good work. She has some good copywriting skills as well which comes in good with a review.
