using paypal button on a product do you put a pound or dollar ammount and link to a dollar or pound payment?

or do you put 2 buttons?

Does a dollar payment put off brits?

My list is 70/30 in favour of Brit right now but payments could come from anywhere.

cant you offer a currency selection in the top right of the site somewhere?

if not, offer two payment currencies. this shows you care about your audience.

I have found that UK customers in the IM niche are happy to pay when the price is in US dollars. It definitely does not work the other way round.

That said, I can think of many niches where I wouldn't dream of selling to UK customers with a price in US dollars because it would kill sales.

    It's horses for courses.

Offer only dollars, it is an world wide currency
Sure, everyone can pay a US dollars price if they have a credit card, no matter where they are in the world.

But that's not the same as saying they will.

I've never had a problem with whatsoever either in terms of selling things in dollars or indeed paying for something in dollars.

I always put stuff in dollars - a couple of times people have asked to pay an equivalent amount via Paypal in Sterling....so I usually set those up as paypal requests.

If they want to buy but dollars put them off, they'll let you know. (This is not IM niche by the way).

I really think it doesn't. No more than a ".com" domain-name will put them off, compared with a ".co.uk" one (and that's probably not at all).

I do think that pricing in ££, and ".co.uk" domain-names are far more likely to put off visitors from other countries.

I always have sold in dollars, most people nowadays are savvy enough to understand the conversion etc.
