Tired Of Spam? Use Google Apps

I've been meaning to post this, but I didn't have much time, or really an idea of how to background this.

I see a lot of complaints of spam everyday, people not honoring "unsub" Requests and all that stuff. I've dealt with it all in the past, and found a simple resolution.

Use Google Apps {FREE} for your domain name, and set "redirect other mails" to main... Meaning anything @ yourdomain.com will forward to you...

Let me go through an example of why this works. The shoe store asked my mom for her e-mail when we bought shoes a while back...

She said

"Yes, e-mail me at payless @ mydomain.com .."

The lady got kinda freaked out, and thought I was some sort of genius... {haha}.

But, now if they abuse having that e- mail, you just create the address in Google Apps, removing the forward, and thus making an e-mail inbox that is entirely pointless.

Nice idea, but if you are worried about spam, why not just start catch all type email?

I do like your way of thinking, but if you just set up a catch all email that can catch all of the spam that you are getting, then you don't have anything extra or third party to setup.

    Hey Caleb

Yes, G Apps are really useful for us. We don't need another email server. Just get that free service upto 50 domains. I use admin@mydomain.com , list@mydomain.com, pay@mydomain.com, info@mydomain.com, dns@mydomain.com etc type mail address for business purpose. FREE service is more than enough for us.

    Thanks

Yep, Google Apps is great for this - I have three e-mails for my site and all of them are just aliases for one.. it is very convenient to have all my email (and all my spam - filtered of course!) in one place.

I have been thinking for a while to set up google apps for my email. I don't really need more than 50 email addresses right now and the directions seem to be fairly cut and dried.

Just the waiting for the couple of days to get it all hooked together in google, but that doesn't even seem that bad a wait.
