Do you promote sites with links to "Affiliates"?

If you are offered a product to promote, and the salespage has a link at the bottom, marked 'Affiliates', do you promote it?

If so, do you think you lose a percentage of sales due to purchasers grabbing the commission for themselves?

Especially if the product is in the IM Niche, isn't the 'Affiliate' link just an invite to grab your commission?

Just wondered what the feeling was amongst Warriors about this?

if it's in the IM niche, i'd get lost. any other niche, the average customer is not into IM, so it's fine.

    just my 0.02c......

If the product is worth promoting go for it, especially if you have a responsive list. It is true that you may lose some commissions but that doesn't mean you should avoid promoting products in the IM niche.

I suppose that one way round it, as far as I've seen from other marketers, is to hang a 'bonus' on to someone clicking through their affiliate link to 'make sure' of the sale.

Razvan, that looks like a 'win some, lose some' type of attitude?

Well you can't win all of them, but you can win most of them, like I said, especially if you have a list. If the product converts well, write a good pre-sell, promote it on your blog an to your list and the sales will come, even though you may lose some commissions especially in the make money niche.

Personally, I found that it is worth it to promote products as an affiliate in the IM / make money online niche.

I don't have a problem with a small text link on the bottom that says affiliates. I have seen some pages that mention becoming an affiliate in the actual sales letter. When I see that, I quickly hit back.

Some marketers only offer affiliate sign ups after they have bought the product. That makes sense to me, because then the affiliate is actually enthusiastic about the product and knows what is inside, which means they should be able to do a better job.

This shouldn't affect JV partners who, presumably, were invited in the first place.

So why don't all marketers do this? Why 'advertise' for affiliates on the salespage? Who do they think they are going to get?

The answer is simple. If all affiliates would allow only customers to promote their products they would make A LOT less sales. Achieving a gravity of 500 on Clickbank would be very difficult in these conditions...

    Absolutely!

Offering a BONUS will help you make the Sale and it is very very common to promote a site that has an affiliate link at the bottom of the page.

Outside of IM they have no idea what that means or are even thinking about getting a deal 9 times out of 10.

Just because they see the affiliate link at the bottom doesn't mean they can get the product at the discounted commission. Product owners review their affiliates and match up who they sold to so they can avoid people taking advantage of the commission discount.

Remember the product owner is the person who pays their affiliates in most cases : )
