I recently got on a marketer's list and now I get spam all the time... What should I do?

The title says it all. I'm not dropping names but in fact, it's one of the best selling products on Clickbank and it came out recently. Anyway I got on this guy's list and now I get spam all the time. I even unsubscribed several times, but yet he (?) keeps sending me stuff. Before getting on his list, I almost never got spam emails, well once in a while but now it's like everyday a ton of them and it's all marketing related. I don't blame him, but it's very suspicious I must say.

What should I do? Can I report him somewhere or get rid of spam, maybe block it somehow? It's very annoying. I hope someone can help.

You must unsubscribed from spammers. If you get more emails from same person, report it to abuse. For an example, abuse@aweber.com is the one for aweber communication.

Many marketers do exactly the same. It makes subscribing to lists quite difficult for me, in fact, it turned my mail into a junk mail. I just have to create a new email for junk mails

Yes indeed, my inbox turned into junk mail as well. I mean, you trust these people with your e-mail and they even assure you they will NOT spam or sell your e-mail, yet they don't keep their word... This again, always reminds me how hard it is to really trust people these days. I think I quit subscribing to ANYTHING for awhile, especially when the marketer's website screams scam. I'm just disappointed with CB for featuring this guy's product (I think some of you already have guessed by now who I'm referring to yet it's best not to drop names as it's against the rules. If so, anyone having the same problem with this guy?)

I'm constantly pestered by spammers too. One thing I do use (which Aweber and Getresponse don't have unfortunately) is the 'do not contact' list. I find that whenever I enable this option when I unsubscribe, I never get anymore emails.

A lot of marketers don't care about spamming their lists. For them it has become a way of life, something they rely on for extra commissions. It doesn't matter for most of them since their lists are so big that a few unsubscribers are more than made up for by new subscribers.

I have complained to aweber and getresponse, but the most effective way for me to deal with these emails is to mark them as spam (way easier than unsubscribing or complaining and I never go digging in my spam folder - over 1000 emails in there)

I think i know who you're talking about. I've also put my email to it to learn how the gurus promote to their list. I've gotten at least 1 or 2 daily and it's just a few days. I'm not unsubscribing anytime soon, but i guess you could unsub, and let aweber knows, and then blacklist that email address if you're annoyed.

if he's using a legitimate autoresponder, you can report him. If he's sending you direct mail through any other medium, and does NOT have an OPT OUT link, or a address to contact, you can report him for violations of the CAN SPAM.

Above poster is right, dont even bother.

Once you get one bit of spam, thats it, the flood gates are open and it will never stop. You just think about every email, any of those coud have and be potentially selling your email address too \\It sux i know.

For future reference, I highly recommend creating a separate email address for use when subscribing to lists. If you use something like Mozilla Thunderbird as your email client, you can easily add it as a separate account and see the emails as you come in - they just won't junk up your regular accounts.
