Website design for new software application

In the near future I'm going to launch a software product that let's you trace your stolen notebook.
My website developer asked me what web-design I like so he have a good idea what he should make.
Since each and everyone loves something else I would like to ask for some help here.
What design of a website do you like, and why?
Preferred are of course websites that sell a software product.
