Bloggers...sound off!

Okay, so I'm a newbie blogger. I've been studying under Yaro Starak for a few months now, and I've also dabbled a bit in the programs of a few others, including Ed Dale & Adam Short. Just wanted to give you a bit of background on my blogging education.

My question is this: If you were to create a blog that is about multiple parts of a general subject (i.e. sports), would you create a separate blog (and consequently, subfolder or maybe subdomain) for each part (a separate blog for football, one for basketball, one for tennis, etc.), or would you just post everything under the primary domain?

I realize this is a newbie question, but thank you to everyone who takes the time to answer it.

I would probably set it up under different pages.

If you are going to be an expert in your writing, use different blogs on separate domains.

If you are going to be commenting on the world of sports, then subdomains or sub directories should be OK.

Give each sport a category and in your permalink stucture you will want to show the category followed by post name. So a post on baseball would have a URL like hxxp://worldsbestsportsdomain.com/baseball/will-pete-rose-ever-get-into-the-baseball-hall-of-fame

Thanks, guys! I've heard over and over again how helpful everyone in the WarriorForums is, but I didn't expect it to happen THIS quickly.

@JMichael - Simple, but effective advice. I see the difference between your two points, and I will definitely carry this tidbit with me throughout my online endeavors.

@Diane - I think I understand what you're saying. I was under the impression that in order to add the "/baseball/" to my domain, I had to manually create a subdirectory on my server and put the blog in there. But, if I understand correctly, as long as I categorize the posts, they will show up like this?

I agree with this and think it would be much easier for you to set it in categories.
