14 Most Important SEO On-Page Factors, Do You Use Them?
On-Page Keyword Factors:
1. Keyword in the title - Place the most important keyword(s) in the html header of the title tag.
2. Place the keyword as first word in the title - As described above but just the first word.
3. Keyword in the domain name.
4. Keyword in the body text - This means you have to naturally place your keyword in your text, don't spam the keyword! Instead just use it "naturally".
5. Relevance between your text and the keyword.
6. Keywords in the H1 tag.
7. Keywords in the internal links of your website - Good navigation on your website is very important.
8. Keywords in the external links of your website - Make revelant external links.
9. Keywords in the URL - This is NOT the same as in the domain name so keep this in mind.
10. Keywords in h2/h3/h4 tags - just like the h1 tag, just don't spam it.
11. Keywords in the alt tag of your image - Some people might not see the images on your website, make sure you have an alt tag related to your website.
12. Keywords in the bold/strong tags.
13. Keywords in the META description - As you can see not very important very more, but it still does have priority!
14. Keywords in the META keywords tag- Same thing, not very important but still helps!
I personally do not use all of them, but it's good to keep this list with you everytime you create a post or page.
On-Page Properties:
1. Relevance in the content - Matt Cutts has told this is one of the most important properties.
2. Link Popularity within the site/ Internal link structure
3. Keywords in links to subpage's
4. Efficiënt link structure - 2 clicks on every page, no page deeper than 4 clicks
5. Quality of the links - Always link to a high quality website or content
6. Age of the pages
7. The quantity of index-able text per page - How much of the html is visible to get indexed.
8. Quality of the content from the pages.
9. Actuality of a page - How many times does a page get edited.
10. Length of the URL - Very important, don't add more than 4 levels
11. All content and html needs to be separated - Very important, Javascript, Css and all that needs to be apart from the content.
12. Html validation of the pages -The World Wide Web Consortium creates all these standards.
