What is Wrong with my Website

I have set up a website for expanding my guitar lessons to the web by teaching over the internet. I some traffic coming in, biggest day was 119 visits. But no one is registering and only 5 have left their name and e-mail for the free report.

Why am I having problems building my list and making sales.

Please take a look at my site. All suggestions are welcome. Click the link in my signature.

Thanks

I would suggest building more backlinks because at this kind of sites the rate of registering is very low, get a traffic of 10000 visits per day, then you should see if you have sales. The second reson is that you have paid registering and your prices are very high.

I think my first question would be - How do you know people want interactive guitar lessons over the internet?

My second question would be - If people do want these lessons, how do you know how much they would pay for them?

The other thing that is a bit odd, is that you are going to a website named live guitar lessons and the first thing you see is a youtube video. I would venture a guess that people see that and immediately think they can find guitar lessons at youtube for free.

I would also guess that many of your visitors are not credit card enabled and cannot buy anything online even if they wanted it.

As far as your website goes, it looks pretty nice. I would consider changing the word "About" to something like "How It Works".

And take your pricing structure links off the navigation bar because that is going to be the first thing somebody looks for before you have had a chance to convince them what a bargain your lessons are for what they are going to get.

It all depends where your traffic is coming from. It it's just random people coming via blogs etc it may not be highly targeted. The no 1 reason people fail online is lack of targeted traffic. These are visitors who want what you are selling i.e. "Guitar lessons" etc.

As a guitarist myself I can tell you that you are in a bit of a tough niche to make money. I have never paid for a guitar lesson, but have learnt a hell of a lot online for free. If you search on Youtube for "songname guitar lesson" you can find most songs for free.
Sorry to point that out to you, but I just know from experience.

      All the best though.

  • Change your report offer to read:

    "Get 15 Free Guitar Lessons"

At the bottom of the home page, below the testimonials, leave another link for the 15 free guitar lessons.

You need more content, it's a blog right? So start creating blog posts about guitar lessons. People will BUY YOU, not the lessons themselves.

Here is an article I wrote which will hopefully help you with this: The Traffic Blogger: “People Buy YOU” …Because You Listen

You should also leave an option for them to write a question to you, or just advertise your contact page better so you can interact with your visitors more. Page is very stagnant, no comment area, etc.

Your sales video does not motivate. It should at least start with a shot of you playing the guitar. It would seem that some guitar music would be essential.

Also, your voice-over sounds hollow. Need a better mic? There could be lots more enthusiasm in your voice. It needs more punch to inform and persuade.

    That's my take on it.

I haven't watched the video, but your home page tells me nothing.

Who are you? What style of guitar do you teach? What kind of lessons are you offering?

The front page needs more information. Don't make me click on tabs in the menubar to find out what the site is about - actually even then you still don't tell me much.

Under register for lessons it tells me to click here to register and learn more about group lessons - but when I get there all it tells me is the cost.

I want to know when they will be, how you will deliver them, who else will be in my class, how we interact, will there be a live video link, etc, etc

The site looks good, but just lacks info. I'd only sign up if I knew you and told me to join your classes via your site.

One reason people might not be signing up for the free report is that there is too much text describing it. Where it says "Please enter your name and e-mail to receive your FREE 15 page report on Practice and Performance Tips" .. I didn't notice it at first because I don't like reading bunches of text. Try changing it to just "FREE practice and performance tips" or something shorter like that.

Also, typo: "Free Pratice and Performance Tips" - doesn't look very professional

you have a decent template there,
it could be the quality of your traffic, are they mainly organic ?

i'd do some video marketing on youtube as well, given that your site is video driven
