Best way to make money online

As you say there are a number of ways to make money online. I wouldn't say one is necessarily better than the other. You will find many people on here claim to be making a lot of money and they are all doing different things.
At the end of the day though, what it all comes down to is getting targeted traffic to your website. I read an interesting article a few weeks ago which said that most people who fail in internet marketing fail for 2 reasons. Either they quit too early, or they simply don't get enough traffic. Work on traffic and make a commitment to yourself to stick with this goal for at least 6 months.

i wish when i started years ago I focused exclusively on membership/recurring payment content

that money just keeps on coming in month after month

if I wanted to make £50-£150 in a couple of days, I would

1) write some articles and sell them
2) potentially sell a couple of links on one of my old blogs (ooh err!)

These methods are the only ways I can think of that will almost guarantee me instant cash (I have done it before) but it is not sustainable

To create long-term income, which is what I'm trying to do right now, I have

1) set up a blog about something I care about (3 blogs actually)
2) put affiliate ads on them which are targeted to the subject in hand

From what I can gather these are the two types of generating income online - short term and long term, and those examples are how I would tackle each

I myself would find a good affiliate product, register a domain, build a squeeze page and start the traffic flowing with PPC.

Best way in my opinion...focus. On one idea and don't stop till you have results that you like. Don't run around like a chicken with your head cut off and don't waste too much time studying how to make money(you can know every technique and be dirt poor). Work, work ,work. Quit mentally masturbating to the idea of making money and go make some real money

Honestly, the best way is the way that works best for you. You might need to test and try different techniques and models. Because what works best for me might not work best for you.

Yes blueprints are good, but at the end of the day, it's what works for you that's important. So you need to test, try and see what the best model is for you.

I think the best ways of making money in these days are the affiliations. Get affiliated on some hosting and i think you can get at least 60 $ per referral.

Concentrate on building a 'buyers list' by selling your own products - can just be cheap reports on various subjects - priced $5-$7 for instance. Then sign up for Michael rasmussen's newsletters and his 'email promos exposed' guide. Then look to expand your products and move onto solo ads and adswaps to keep on building up your buyers list. Within a year or two you could be releasing higher end products and taking part in JV comps for the big time clickbank affiliates. I would honestly not bother wasting too much time on grinding out articles and doing loads of niche marketing. Go where the money is - product creation and marketing to your list.

So are you wanting to make a quick buck? Or.. Are you wanting to start an actual business and earn a living from it?

If the latter is what you are after then don't look to someone else,chances are what you get told may work for you but probably will not.

If you are wanting to start a business:Choose a niche that is something you either have an interest in or something that you have existing knowledge in (recommended)

Once you do that you figure out what the needs of the potential buyer in that niche would be. For instance: Women's nylons. You wouldn't want to promote your own product on shoe cleaners or an affiliate product on socks if your clientele is looking for nylons. Your product would be good,The affiliate offer would be good But your target audience would be missed.

So you need to lay some ground work before you put a site up with a product ready to sell. Part of that ground work is to do what is called Market research. This is accomplished a number of ways.

Find competitors who are selling similar products. Find out what they are charging, do some statistical research on traffic they are getting by going to Alexa the Web Information Company see where the traffic is coming from is it North America specifically the US or Canada or is it from china etc you want to make sure when you put your product up it is going to hit the right target audience or like myself you will hit wall after wall before figuring it out.

If you want to make money fast and pretty consistently without relying on SEO, try offering a service. Something you can do yourself quickly or outsource. I think this is the fastest way to make money online without having to wait for your commissions 30-60 days later. This could be short time money or long time depending on how you structure it.

Forget the 'loopholes' . They are usually short term and can't be counted on. Go for the proven money-makers. Providing real value and service to users.

Create a list of what you are good at and then see if anybody has a need for it.
If you know how to design a site you can sell your services. If you are good at writing articles you can make some quick cash that way and put that toward other projects.

I say retail - buying online has just started, it's very effective. But the site has to be super sharp, no one goes to those cookie cutter site anymore

i think the best way to make money online is with website , get traffic , seo , etc. Get traffic on your website and then make money with google ads i think is the best way to make money.

May be you're a creative person and you like social marketing and hate SEO.

Or maybe you're introvert and like to do SEO.

Sometimes spreading your eggs is the best ideas as you mentioned that your head is full of ideas of making money but have never accomplish one. Having one dollar is better than dreaming of making $10.............

Pick one of those great ideas and transform it into an income generating business and move on to the other.

favor INTENSITY over EXTENSITY.

In other words...

Find ONE WORKABLE WAY and then PERFECT IT.

For example, If creating small blogs to earn money from Google Adsense has earned you 5$ last month, find a way to create 100 more, to get to 500$.

I acknowledge that this is better said than done, but...

You will feel more confident about building on an already established foundation than knocking about form one idea to another, without realizing the full potential of any of them.

Graham, write down your ideas, flowchart the outline of the processes for each idea, identify the costs (minimum/maximum), then pick one, just one and do it.

Do not start the next one until the first is producing, tweak it, learn from it.

Then start with No.2, rinse and repeat.

There are plenty of things on here that start at $5.

I guess for me the fastest way to make money is twitter and rss.

And I guess it's up to you how to use those technique to drive traffic.

Make sure it's the same niche.
