What's the easiest or fastest way to get followers on tweeter?

I'm taking the dive on twitter. I just need some basic guidance in terms of networking with others in my niche via twitter.

First thing I would do if I were you and wanted people to follow me would add a Follow Me On Twitter link in your forum signature.

Check WSO for Dana Willhoit's ebook on Twitter - very inexpensive. I got it last week and am now Twittering away. She can be found on this forum somewhere.

I've seen a few new ebooks on JV giveaways lately, well, I actually downloaded some.

I just remembered, someone was telling me about a site called twitter search, where you can plug in a keyword and find all related tweets. What you could do is find the people writing about your niche and follow them. Then check out who they're following and do the same.

You should also check a few things to decide the most important ones to follow:

    * Their bio may tell you right off whether they're worth hearing from.
    * Their stats, Following, Followers, you want to add people with a large reach.
    * Glance over their recent posts to make sure they are active.

Once you have followed a few, make a mental note of the little mini avatars. If you see several people following the same ones, then you should add them. Then you should add some of the people they are following too. A lot of people will return follow you. The more your image is seen on other pages, the more people will start following you.

You should try and tweet on a regular basis with something useful on occasion. There are several aggregation sites where you could pick up followers. I try to make it a point to jump around and add more people once a week or so. Every time I do I notice more random people add me.

I've been on Twitter since the start and you wouldn't believe the number of people signing up who ONLY want to promote their products. It's spoiling the whole experience.
If you do sign up. Be sure to complete your profile with a link to a blog that gives other Twitterers who you may wish to befriend some 'honest' idea about you and who you are.

If you don't do this you'll be perceived by the 'good-guys' on Twitter as a 'spammer', whether you are or not. And you'll get 'spammers' befriending you. Too many 'marketers' go for the fastest number of followers possible in the shortest time. That's OK if you want to SPAM everyone, because there's no way you'll be able to interact with 1,000 or 2,000 + followers, so it makes it a TOOL rather than a 'social media' which in my opinion, it was designed for. (Maybe I'm wrong, I hope not)

Select some of the 'good-guys' here on the warrior forum to follow, and then view some of 'their' followers profiles to see who you'd gel with, or who you find interesting.

PLEASE don't go in just aiming for high numbers. (Unless you want to spam everyone of course)

    Hope this helps.

    Pete.
