Ezines use either plain text or HTML-format emails.

Some marketers send out both versions of each copy.

HTML is, of course, far more convenient for "displaying stuff", but some subscribers don't like receiving HTML-formatted email and prefer plain text (I think primarily because of their concerns that HTML emails may conceal "Trojans").

When I send people articles for syndication in ezines, I just send them by "Word" attachment, unless otherwise requested. Even people without "Word" software on their computers usually have "Open Office" - which is free - and can open them with no problem. (I suspect, though, that the overwhelming majority of ezine compilers will have "Word", these days).

@alexa: I suppose he's asking about the website

@newmovies: Ezine is on custom made portal coded in php for frontend &
SQL server for database for backend. They're not using any paid or opensource
CMS/Script although there are a lot of components for Joomla CMS to setup something
    similar to ezine.

Well spotted, thanks. I see ... I think you'll be right, actually!

EZA is so well-known that some people have come to think of "article directories" as "ezines"! :p
