now i see...i click on reply and i can see now that i wouldnt sent the reply to myself and i can see the email adress where the reply would be sent...so i think the guy basically edit his profile information so that the email appears that was sent from me/my name...

I've had my yahoo hacked a couple of times...sending out mass emails from my address to all of my contacts. I just change the password and send out an email telling people do not open the last email from me.

The last time it happened, I opened the email from another computer and it was a weight loss product affiliate link.

Lately, I've been getting emails from people with my full name and address in the subject line. I never open them and delete.

Spammers will always find a way!

It's called spoofing. Your hotmail account isn't hacked, and there's really nothing you can do about it.

In a sense, no and yes.

What happened is that a hacking script entered your account and is probably mailing you list with tons of promos.

Thats right, its what black hatters do unfortunately

I don't know how to fix it, but I can probably say that an actual human being hasn't hacked your account.

Maybe searching on Google can help you?!?!

No, mattward is correct and IMReview is incorrect. Your account was not hacked by human or machine - no one accessed it. They simply spoofed it to make it LOOK like it was sent from you, in a desperate attempt to avoid spam filters.

There is nothing to be done about this except mark it as spam and move on.

I'm getting spam emails from 3 friends hotmail accounts. If they change their passwords would that put a stop to it?
