Best Way to Promote a Webinar ?

I'm just getting into webinars, and can definitely see the potential as a sales funnel. The problem is I have never promoted something like this, so I'm fairly clueless as to what converts readers into attendees.

After all I am sure you are all aware that different traffic sources convert differently for different product types. Twitter for instance is great for sub's that can be turned into buyers, but very rarely will they buy straight of the bat.

I know that if people get me in a webinar I always seem to end up spending a small fortune, and I have many digital equivalence of the fair-ground bear on my computer to prove it. i.e. small, fluff filled, and thoroughly useless lol

Any tips as to which traffic sources convert best for webinars?

All the webinars I have attended in the past have been advertised through lists I've been on for years, so copying that wont work.

If anyone that has done a webinar that they promoted through a method other than their list, I'd love to hear about it.

I've often done webinars for other business owners with large lists and that has worked well. They had a targeted market that I wanted to reach and they did the setup and promotion. I just showed up and spoke.

I realize you've already got this one set up but what if you approached someone and offered to share the profits if they promoted it to their large list?

I would try doing an Ad Swap or Solo Ad to get attendees from other marketers' lists.

I think you'd get the highest response from a list - either yours, or other marketers' lists where you just work out a special JV deal and offer them commissions on people they send to your webinar.
