Straight Sell VS Email Capture

Hi all,

Am about to launch a new info product in the body building niche. My main concern at the moment is whether to attempt to sell the product straight away with a long sales page or try to give away a taster to capture email addresses and use auto responder to try and convert. Apart from 'test variations' has anyone got any pointers here?

Really appreciate your thoughts...

One big recommendation....If you plan to use affiliates, offer them a landing page WITHOUT an opt-in. They want to capture the lead for themselves.

If you plan to only market it yourself, then definitely use an opt-in form and capture leads. Your product is not the only offer you can make to the leads you acquire. You will have your info product, recommended supplements, info products from other respected bodybuilders, etc....

I bet you are not going to sell just that product once... if so you can go for straight sell, but as Barry had said... I recommend capturing email address... that will be a better way...

@Shaunie - I'm in agreement with Barry and the Bad Blogger on this one.

I recommend starting an email list that way you can pitch them numerous products over a long period of time. I just want to point out that just because you got someone on an email list doesn't mean you can't still pitch them right away. A lot of marketers "one time" offers to people that just join their list in an effort to convert immediately.

Let's put it this way... I wasn't able to make money online until I started list building. Now I feel like I could make money by applying the same strategy in almost any market.

Another option you could consider is not having a traditional opt-in form right on the sales page, but instead have an exit pop-up that appears when someone exits your page.

I always click off a page that requires an email. Give them good free information and then hit them with the sale. Do any gimmick squeeze pages actually work?

How many of these pages are you seeing every day of the week? A lot more than the average person I am sure. In short, yes, squeeze pages definitely work.
