IP experts.......Question for you.....

I was using an SEO tool to check some things about my sites/blogs and found a tool where you can check the IP addresses of your URL's. Anyway, I noticed that the IP address of all of my sites/blogs (except for 2 of them) were different. That makes no sense. They're all created from the same laptop or desktop, and I only use 2 hosting companies.

I'm not an IP expert, so I was curious if anyone could explain how this could be to me?

Thanks!

Your hosting companies have lots of IPs, to allocate as they see fit. If you want to know why all your IPs are different, contact your host.

Thanks. I might send them an email. It's not really a big deal, I was just kinda curious how that could be. Just happened to click on the "URLs sorted by IP" and noticed a bunch of different IP's and wondered why.

Most hosts give an IP from the ones assigned to your server unless you have dedicated ones.

    It's generally no big deal.

Your IP address is not fixed as your MAC address is, but is allocated session by session.

Your websites IPs are not determined by your computer/laptop but by the hosting company where you bought your site is hosted from. Every single website has a unique IP address so that when you type in the address into your address bar it knows where to find it. Just like we all have a different house address so people know where to find us. No two websites will ever have the same IP address.
