Website/Blog Articles

I apologize ahead of time if this has been asked previously. I searched the internet high and low for the answer. I have been out of the "game" for a little while and am returning.

I am having a brain fart  I know the search engines do not like duplicate content. If you write an Ezine Article, should you post that article to your website as well, as it is written, or spin it? And vice versa, if you publish an article on your website, should you also take the same exact article and publish it on Ezine, or re-write it first?

Thank you very much!

-Jarrett

Duplicate content really only refers to the same content within a website. You can have the same content on your website as is on Ezine Articles.

There is some debate as to whether you should submit it to Ezine first or put it on your website first. So I'm not going to answer which one you should do first because I'm really not sure, but yes you can have the same article on Ezine and your website.

Ahhh, ok thank you verrrrrry much! Imo I would put it on my website first and then Ezine, because my website is the main goal, Ezine is supplemental and will direct back to my website. Those are just my feelings on it.

Yes actually now that you've said that I think that is the main argument for putting it on your own website first because that is the one you want to rank higher and have more importance.

Personally I think this is the best way to do it. After all, your own website is more important to you in the long term despite the advantages you get from submitting articles to Ezinearticles or any other article directory.

There is also the possibility that they might not approve your article and you could have had it on your website while you were wating for their decision!

If you don't want to wait until google indexes your post then i would recommend you post your article on ezine with a back link to your site. Or you can post a resume on ezine, and put a back link in this style: For more info visit....

True, but you can also request at Google, Yahoo, and Bing for them to "crawl" your site. I do remember this, and don't recommend doing it every time you post something but once in a while. Although, it doesn't mean it will happen right away, but I've been successful with getting sites ranked highly pretty quickly with no issues.

Jmsexton, you are right, publish the article at first to your site and then Ezine. You may do some modification to your article before submitting it to Ezine. Thanks

    Hi Jarrett,

You'll like this fine thread, I think.

It answers your question in great detail.

The incidental chat in the thread also answers many other fundamental article marketing questions. It's not often we've seen so many successful, professional article marketers all posting in the same thread and explaining with such unanimity their reasons for their answers to these questions.

I have over 1,000 articles at EZA, all of which had originally been published and indexed on my own sites/blogs in identical form (apart from the resource boxes, of course), prior to EZA submission.

This much shorter thread might interest you, too.
