Affiliate Links on The Back End - Thoughts?

Firstly I would like to say Hi to all Warriors; I’ve been in IM for 3 years now but lacked the WF resource which I think is wonderful.

My question, I am in the midst of creating a product and was wondering if it is bad practice to offer my affiliate links on the back end? Not up sells! The products come from different affiliate programs so I can’t carry other affiliate ID’s through.

Let me give an example:
I create a product for let’s say Acne, the customer buys into the product which is a one-time fee membership site using let’s say Clickbank. In the members area the program requires you to use a face cream offered by CJ and a facecloth offered by Amazon. An affiliate refers the customer for the $37 membership program and gets his ~$18 but then the CJ and Amazon links are mine.

Is this bad practice?

Thanks,
Robbeh

  • Nothing wrong with it as such, but the more you give your affiliates the more they will give back and support you.

  • If you could tie in more products on the back in end which have 2 tier commissions for example then its a win, win situation.

Unfortunately with the product this would be really tough. What about a possible "profit sharing". Let's say the affiliate brings in 10% of sales - in a one time a month payout I would share 10% of the backend sales...is that too generous as affiliate sales might not convert to the backend sales (although they should)?

      Has any vendor done this?

      Thanks for your input,
      Robbeh
