Need traffic tips for a finance website

Hey Guys!,

I've just opened a brand new website in the finance niche. I would like to hear from other warriors in the same niche on what techniques they were able to use to get easy and quick traffic to their sites without spending too much. Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

Chris

social marketing is the quickest approach.
however for long term you should focus on seo, related websites etc.

How would you use social marketing for an adsense oriented finance site?

        My plan would be following:

        1) Use MicroNicheFinder software to get best keywords
        2) Go to LeadImpact.com and buy some traffic, it is cheaper than PPC

Already some great tips for you here.....

          Here's what I would do.....

          1. Pick 15-20 low hanging fruit keywords with minimal competition and write 500-750 word articles...upload to site.

          2. Spin those articles and submit to directories to get backlinks.
          3. Then, get a diverse set of backlinks to your homepage for about 2-3 months...maybe more.
          4. update your blog/site with 1 financial news story regarding your topic for the next 60 days...make comments about it....reference it...etc.

          Good luck

I already have about 15 articles out, but I only have about 3 articles on my main site. Should I focus on having my pages rank well or my articles?

I already thought about this one. I'm having trouble finding a finance forum with a sizable following that allows me to post a sig file...

I'm an SEO guy myself. I do lots of other promotion stuff, but getting your site up in the rankings really helps out.

    Hi Chris

I am quite new to this game, but I am foccusing most of my efforts on Facebook. Here you can search groups of like minded people and build a relationship with them. There is also the option of setting a like page up, where you can have a opt in form to get them on your list.

I am also doing some classified adds on Gumtree, Craighslist and Vistastreet and thinking about doing some article marketing too.

I would focus on effective article marketing. Not just blasting
article directories with a bunch of spun articles. But actually finding
out where your audience hangs out, write really articles there, and let them
come to you with a good impression of who you are before they
      even see your site.

If I were in your shoes, I would do this:

    1. Hop onto LinkedIn and join every finance-related LinkedIn group
    2. Start messaging the group's members and offer some tasty report or other form of valuable content
    3. Direct them to your site to pick up the freebie
    4. Install an email capture system on your site to trade the freebie for their email address and permission to follow up
    5. Use email marketing software (my favorite is MailChimp) to drip-feed even better content to their inbox. Earn their trust.

Forum and Social Marketing need to become your new best friend! The sheer amount of message boards, groups, fanpages, etc that focus on Finance is going to leave you with plenty of options for promotion. For a huge niche like this I would make a spreadsheet with all of your information and then start posting away.

Start capturing emails by giving away valuable information for free, and then pitch a membership to get more information like that for pennies on the dollar! Just thinking off the top of my head, you could easily develop massive amounts of traffic without even ranking in the search engines...

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

Article marketing is the best way on a shoe string budget to get going. A quality back link service can help as well as authoring some content for other websites/blogs.

As always finding a new spin or approach will get you noticed faster by other sites who can then offer links on their sites.

tis all about leverage. Go to the biggest and best financial websites and blogs and make friends with them and do a deal. Also some PPC could not hurt.

Like i said leveage off others hard work, and you will see some good results.
