Hands on Affiliate Marketing Strategy

The old fashioned way to affiliate market, and the way everyone seems to immediately think of when you mention affiliate marketing, is to write hands off articles that link to webpages you set up to sell someone else's product(s).

This is the old way of doing things and in today's world of social media it can work but not as well as a more hands on approach.

What if you instead built a blog or website and then managed a following of readers who absolutely loved and trusted you? You would be delivering great information and they would be paying you dollars for affiliate marketing to them the solutions they need.

It's easy, it's profitable and it's dependable income. So how about it, will you try a more hands on approach to affiliate marketing? Many here use email lists which could be considered a form of this method, but I prefer a combination of email list and blogging as well as a host of social media in order to interact with my audience and build a bond that lasts.

Those that do not build a relationship with their list members, blog readers, or social media friends are leaving a LOT of money on the table. Sure, you may get a few sales by copying and pasting a prewritten sales pitch or fake review, but the real money is made by building trust.

I think any marketer who wants to truly succeed at marketing (whether through the internet or not) needs to understand that trust is going to make more money in the long run than trying to lie to people for a quick buck.

It goes back to the principle of building Brand awareness, which in itself is developing trust with a community, audience or demographic. We all have our favorite companies, services and products. We trust these products and thus will buy them over everything else.

A more unique perspective is how does one build trust with an audience or community to then charge them for information instead of a physical product?

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

It's easy actually: by the time you get to that point they will ask you for additional information. They literally will be chomping at the bit for the opportunity to get more of your information and they'll pay for it to boot.

EDIT: Listening is the key. Selling is all about listening. People always have problems that need solving!

It's funny how so many people will jam offers down people's throats, then wonder why they never make a single dime online. High pressure only works in person (and you'll despise the salesman); it's a whole different ball game on the Internet.
