I'm new to Affiliate Marketing and I'm trying to find out what the status is of this new law especially in my state, CT.

Most info I find on Google is from 2009 or early 2010. I don't want to work hard getting things going if I'm going to be dumped by Amazon and other companies.

Thanks, this is so disappointing!

wow all these Affiliate Marketers on here and nobody knows anything about this tax law some states are trying to pass or have passed.

Amazon was going to be my main affiliate program to use and I know a lot of other people use them too but no one here?

hello, anyone anyone? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for being frustrated but this is the 3rd forum I've posted on and no one anywhere has updated info but yet people are talking about how terrible this is and it could affect many people who make a living IM so I assumed people would be following this closely.

I guess I don't understand exactly what you are asking. There are several threads here that discuss the internet tax and Amazon in particular. You can do a simple forum search and find them. Full of info to help you better understand what's happening.

What I would also advise if you want to know whether or not CT has anything currently in progress or being discussed as far as an internet or "Amazon" tax is concerned, is to contact your local state rep and ask them. That way you'll know for sure what is going on.

Sometimes you just have to take the lead and not depend on others, which is often the best route to take anyway. After all, it's your business. Best of luck to you, and hopefully your state is not in the loop on this.

thanks. I want to find out what is going on with Internet Tax (searches in google call it Nexus Tax) as to what states have passed it or about to. I guess I am mainly focused on CT since that is where I live but if other states have passed it then CT may be more eager to follow. Even though they're not going to collect crap and will probably lose revenue because we won't be making money to pay taxes. Duh!

I have done search on here, another forum and google and everything that comes up is from 2009 or early 2010. It's like everyone just stopped talking about it. I did join a google group so I'm waiting for some info there.

Yes I guess I can call local state rep but we have a bunch of Democrats here who are not to eager to hear from people who oppose what they're pushing.

*did find recent info on Illinois I believe but that was it.

thanks. I came across that thread and will keep eye on it. Didn't see anything since September but thought maybe people were busy with holidays and such and haven't posted. I'm assuming people in the state who are making big $$$ with Amazon and other places will be speaking with people closely involved with this bill.

I was just wondering if they gave up on the bill or putting off to sometime this year. Will find out who my local reps and give them a try.

I usually watch Performance Marketing Association's website. It looks like within the last couple of days both Connecticut and California have introduced Nexus Tax bills. I think this is the third try for CA.

I'm in IL, and I'm waiting to see if the bill on the governor's desk will be signed or vetoed.

Thanks I did just join a Google group to follow them and heard the news about the new laws. :0(

Thanks for letting me know. :0)

I can't believe these laws they want to pass which will make no money for them and only hurt Affiliates. What happened to common sense in Government?

I think politicians need to go back to school and study Economics and the Constitution.
